"I deserve to be with you, but you just can't let that happen, can you? I believe in us, and you don't."

"No," I huff, "I believe you will wake up and realize you don't want this for yourself. Your mom is right."

She backs up, grabbing her phone and keys off the table, "I believe in taking chances. I'm so sick of everyone thinking they know what's best for me!"

"I'm just trying to protect you," I calm my voice, trying not to escalate the argument.

"That's the damn problem. I'm so overprotected I can't ever make any decisions for my fucking self!"

She doesn't usually curse out loud, so I know she's pissed.

"This was a bad idea. I'll just see you around, Jay. I'm not your plaything. I want to be with you outside of the bedroom."

"Hanna…" I whisper, surely she doesn't think I'm using her for sex. I fucking love her, damn it.

"Goodbye, Jameson."

She slams the door behind her, and I just stand there like a damn field goal post. It takes every bit of willpower I have, but I don't go after her. She has to go and so do I.
