Euphoria clouded his brain as he pulled out, the pressure mounting with each entry. He moved, increasing the speed as her fingernails bit into his back, each pinprick digging deeper the faster he moved.

Casey called out his name as her body erupted in shivers beneath him. With a final breath, he spilled himself inside of her, following her quick lead. His heart softened, his soul opening to encase her own, bonded by the moment fueled by passion and desire.

“My sweet Cinderella,” he murmured and rolled to her side. Pressing a hand to her heart, his fingers rose and fell with each breath she took. “You okay?” he whispered, brushing a stray curl from her face and tucking it behind her ear.

“Starving. I’m ready for my cheesy sandwich.” She grinned and closed her eyes.

Austin snickered and pulled her closer, pressing his nose into the field of lilacs. Her head rested on his chest, and within seconds, her breathing slowed to a rhythmic pattern as she drifted off to sleep.

“Falling hard and fast, Casey.”

She didn’t stir.

Closing his eyes, he nodded off, contentment and happiness settling in his heart.

Austin pushed a plateof warm pancakes in front of her.

“Eat. You need a good breakfast.”

Her stomach churned, the sugary scent of the syrup nauseating.

“I can’t. I’m too nervous.” She shoved the plate away with a frown.

“Casey girl, come on, you know this stuff. Backward and forward.” He pushed the plate back in her direction. “Besides, it’s just a test.”

She rolled her eyes. “Yeah, to you! Mr. Do Everything Perfectly.”

He snorted. “Huh?”

“Never mind.”

Austin leaned forward, resting his elbows on the kitchen counter. “You’re smarter than you give yourself credit for, Casey McDaniels.”
