“Yeah. I don’t think she likes me very much.” She giggled, snuggling back into his body.

His arms tightened and pulled her closer. “Don’t take offense to it. She’s never liked anyone I’ve dated.”

“Well, she really doesn’t like Mavis too much either.”

His body stiffened, the breath hitching in his throat at her words. “She used to, but I guess that was a long time ago,” he muttered. His hand dropped, smacking against the mattress as his phone vibrated. He turned and snatched at the device on the nightstand, an immediate frown twisting on his lips as his eyes skimmed the screen.

“Everything okay?”

He nodded. “Umm, yeah. It’s Steven Boyd. He wants me to stop in today while I’m in town.”

“That’s kind of weird, isn’t it? He knows you’re here for your brother’s wedding.”

Austin shrugged. “He and Rodger must just want a quick update on the office or something. No big deal. Will you be okay on your own for a bit?”

Casey flopped backward on the bed and smashed her face back into the pillow. “I think I can handle that.” She closed her eyes and grinned. “Rehearsal at four, right?”

“I’ll be back way before that, Cinderella.” He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her nose before scooting out of the bed.

She eyed him, watching as he gathered clean clothes. The light flipped on in the bathroom, and the water turned on, steam billowing outward through the crack in the door. Casey grinned, and the pounding in her head subsided as she snuggled deeper under the covers.

The door creaked open, and Austin’s head popped out, followed by his naked body. He winked. “I never did show you that spacious two-person shower, did I?”

Casey smiled as a shiver of excitement rippled through her body. “No, you didn’t.”

But you sure can now!

She leapt from the bed.
