“Fallon, get your ass out here!”

Sighing, I hit the light switch and walk out. Trent is leaning up against the door, feet crossed at his ankles. His dark hair is a little shorter than I would like, but I get it, he has to keep it short when he reports. He’s wearing a grey shirt and black jeans that hug his hips and muscular thighs just right. A sexy smile plays on his lips. He knows I’m checking him out, and damn if he doesn’t look good.

“We are late. You know what my parents will think we were doing that caused us to be late?”

“Shut up!” I walk up and go to swat at his chest, but he catches my wrist pulling me to him.

Trent kisses my forehead, then trails down the side of my face, peppering kisses along the way until he reaches my neck. He nips me once before pulling back.

“Trent,” I warn. If he keeps this up, we will definitely be late.

“Okay, fine let’s go.” He smirks, pulling me out the door.

“I’m stuffed,” I say as the four of us walk down the sidewalk to head back to the resort. Trent leans over. “I’ll be stuffing you later.” I nearly gasp and push him away. God, I hope his parents didn’t hear him. We are adults and all, but still.

“Vivian wants to go back to the room for a little while to relax before this evening’s festivities.”

We are having dinner at the resort later. Vivian and Tom said they made the reservation about eight months in advance because it is Christmas after all.

“Okay, I was thinking of hitting the beach with Fallon for a bit so that works.”

I smile at Trent’s words. I’m kind of tired and want to rest, but the thought of being in the water with him has me rethinking that plan. There’s just something about us and being in the water together. It has gone from sitting on the edge of the pool as a teenager that crushed on him from a distance to getting to touch his half-naked wet body now.

After getting changed and gathering up towels and sunscreen, we head out through the French doors that open up to the beautiful blue waters. The ocean at home sure doesn’t look like this. Not one bit. And while it seems odd to be spending Christmas on the beach, I would probably be doing the same thing back home in Florida. Either that or I’d be in the Maxwells' pool. Florida doesn’t participate in winter.

I set everything down and apply a little sunscreen. It may be December, but according to my weather app, it’s eighty degrees out and slightly cloudy.

“Will you apply some on my shoulders?” I ask Trent.

He nods and walks up to me, taking the bottle from my hand. Moving my hair to the side, he starts applying the sunscreen.

“You know I could take you right here, right now.”

“Trent.” I try to keep my voice firm, but it fails me. His words make me weak.

“I won’t, though, I don’t think I could handle anyone else seeing you melt at my touch. I wouldn’t want anyone to catch a glimpse of--“ He pauses to grab my pussy.

Fuck. Him and his words. I’m nearly ready to pull the string on my bikini. He can have me wherever he would like. People seeing us is the farthest thing from my mind currently.

“I really don’t want anyone seeing you in this either.” He waves a hand at my swimsuit. It’s not like it is super revealing. A simple black bikini.

Shaking my head at him, I saunter toward the crystal blue water, shaking my ass as I go, teasing.

“Fallon.”

Peeking back over my shoulder, I wink. “Come on, lover, let’s cool you down.”

He jogs down to catch up with me just as my feet hit the water. He grabs me around my waist and runs into the water. Surprisingly the water is somewhat warm even with the cloud coverage.

“God, I’ve missed this,” Trent says as he spins me around before letting me go. My feet hit the sand, the water is only waist deep.

“Missed what?”

“Us, being together, being carefree.”

“Like this?” I splash at him.

He’s not wrong. We have been through some rough patches. We’ve been through a lot of heartache over the past few years, and somewhere along the way, we lost the ability to just be together and have a good time.
