Nodding, I smile and reach up to cup his cheek. “Very sure. Now go and get your drink on.”

“Love you.” He leans in for a kiss, but I cover his mouth with my hand and shake my head.

“I have nacho-flavored vomit breath and before you say anything, that’s worse than morning or pussy breath, so don’t even try to argue with me.”

“Fine,” he hisses against my palm. “But tomorrow, when you’re feeling better, I’m going to kiss your pussy and then share a pussy breath morning kiss with you before we spend naked Sunday together. And FYI, I might kiss your pussy several more times with both my mouth and my dick.”

“What is it with you and my hoo-ha?”

“I’m addicted. One taste and I was hooked.”

“Lucky I love you, Jones.”

“That I am. And for the record, I love that you love me, Mrs. Jones.” It’s still surreal to be called Mrs. Jones but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’ve only been married for a few weeks now, but it’s perfect in every way.

“Let’s go, Jones,” JJ yells as he’s joined by Jett and Cliff from the team.

Kal kisses me on the cheek and then walks off with the guys. Lexi links her arm with mine and we watch them head toward the press conference. When they’re out of earshot, Lexi leans into me. “First things first, we need to get a pregnancy test.”

“I’m not pregnant,” I snap.

“For me, please pee on a stick?”

“Fine,” I relent, “but I’m not pregnant.”

FYI … I’m not pregnant, the test was negative. It’s just a bug, like I keep telling everyone.

CHAPTER3

KALLEN

Leaving Chelsea with Lexi just now isn’t sitting well with me, but I know my wife, when she’s made up her mind, there’s no changing it. Well, except for that one time I made her date me … and then marry me, but that’s all moot now. I slapped a ring on that and she’s mine forever now. And one day, she’ll carry my babies and we will live happily ever after.

“Dude, you okay?” JJ asks, slapping me on the back. “You were off in your head just now.”

“Just worried about Chels.”

“Dude, it’s just a bug. She’ll be fine.”

“Yeah, I know but …”

“But you love her and want to make sure she’s okay, blah-blah-blah.”

“You can’t tell me if it was Lexi throwing up like that, that you'd be okay.”

“Hell fucking no. I’d flip the team off and be there to hold her hair back while she vomits her guts up and then I’d feed her chicken soup and rub her feet.”

“You’re so whipped,” I tease, bumping him in the shoulder.

“Like you’re not?”

“Well, I’m here—”

“Only because she demanded you come here. See, whipped.” He makes the sound of a whip cracking.

“Damn straight, I am. Have you seen my wife?”

“I’m not falling for that again, last time I agreed with you, you whacked me in the leg and I could hardly walk for a week.”
