“Not possible.”

“I know it’s possible because it’s true.”

“Whatever.” There’s no winning this silly argument on who loves the other more. I’m just happy he thinks he does. There was a time I thought he couldn’t stand to look at me, much less be in the same room with me.

We’ve come a long way, grown up, learned how to love as adults and not horny teens.

“Maybe we could wait another year. Give us time to ourselves. Finish decorating the house, get Mel’s expansion done, and my business more established.”

“I’m good with that. I like being able to walk around naked and fuck you wherever and whenever we want.”

I run my fingers through his longish hair. My dirty-blond surfer. “You know that’s not an incentive, sounds more like a deterrent to having kids if I ever heard one.”

He grabs my ass, holding me against his hardening cock. “We’ll be kid-free and having a hell of a lot more sex than anyone in this house.”

I moan when he moves his hips, rubbing my clit through our clothes.

“At least until I fuck a baby into you.” He nuzzles my neck, kissing and sucking.

“Sounds amazing,” I gasp when he slips a hand down the back of my pants. “I can’t wait.”

“Me neither, Songbird.”

CHER

By the time we head to bed, we’ve meal-prepped for tomorrow, had a wonderfully relaxed Christmas Eve dinner, stuffed the stockings, and played Santa for the kids—after they went to bed, of course. The guys grilled steak and chicken—it was a little cold out, but that didn’t stop Cap or our grown boys from doing it. As for the rest of the meal, Reese roasted veggies in the oven, and Taylor and I made bread and salad. We skipped dessert since we had pancakes for breakfast, and we’re saving our sweets we spent most of the day baking for tomorrow.

We’re having the more traditional meal on Christmas Day of ham and turkey and all the fixings. We’ve a large brood to feed, but with everyone chipping in, it’s manageable, given the large kitchen, double ovens, eight-burner stovetop, and warming drawers.

I think I could live in this beautiful home, surrounded by mountains and the people we love. The whimsical thought of owning this house and spending all our Christmases here, brings a smile to my face, making it hard to keep the toothpaste from dribbling out.

I spit and rinse, patting my face dry. “Did you talk to Taylor?”

“I did.” He nuzzles my neck from behind, running his hands round my waist, wrapping me in his strong arms. His green eyes meet my blues in the mirror. “She’s okay. She thought there might be a possibility they were pregnant, but she took a test this morning. It was negative. The news of Frankie and Reese being pregnant—”

“Felt like a slap to the face. Our poor girl. Maybe I should go talk to her.”

His grip tightens. “No, she’s fine. She just got caught up in baby fever.” He rubs my abdomen. “I can understand that.”

“James, you’re not—”

He shrugs. “Aren’t I?”

I swivel, needing to look him in the eyes and tell me he wants more babies. “You want more?”

His sigh is soft and dreamy. “I want as many babies as your sweet body will give us, Plum. But, no, I’m not really asking. Just dreaming of one more to round out the number to four.”

“I don’t know if—”

“Not really asking.” He kisses me silent, walking me backward to the bedroom. “But it sure will be fun practicing and making you come again and again as I tell you all the ways I’m going to put a baby in you.”

“Cap.” My man has a wicked tongue, a salacious mind, and knows how to use both to bring us endless pleasure.

“I can’t believe our girls are pregnant at the same time.” He stops by the full-length mirror sitting in the corner of the room. “Get naked.” He kisses the command down my neck before grabbing a bar stool I hadn’t noticed by the closet door and setting it in front of the mirror.

“What are we doing with that?”
