Page 67 of Our First Christmas

With trembling hands, I make my way over to the Christmas tree with its multi-colored lights illuminating the living room and the few ornaments we placed on it on our second day here. Leaning down, I pick up the small box, unable to wait any longer. With the present in my hand, I start to explain. “This isn’t what you think. Not that I don’t want that with you because I want it more than anything in the world, but as you know, I’m still trying to make something of myself, and my bank account is suffering. But know that it will be the most spectacular day of our lives when I do.”

Coco stands and reaches for me. I take her hand and sit beside her before handing her the box. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I believe you.” She laughs, and it’s music to my ears. “Can I open it now?”

“Yeah,” I choke out. I hate that I’m so nervous, but damn, this is the first time I’ve ever had to buy a gift for someone I care about.

Her hand covers mine for a long moment before she unwraps her present. I meant for it to be the last gift she opened, but I’m not sure I’ll make it until then. Even though she reassured me earlier, I still want it to be perfect.

Coco’s hands pause, and I hear her gasp before she looks up at me with tears in her eyes. “Bodhi,” she cries. “It’s the most perfect gift a girl could ever ask for. Will you put it on me?”

I take the necklace out of the box as she lifts her hair. “Do you really like it?”

Her eyes widen. “Are you kidding me? I’m not sure how you managed to find a necklace that has the exact same flower you gave me the first time, but…” She clutches the flower to her heart, and a tear slips down her cheek. “This is the most thoughtful gift. Thank you, Bodhi.”

“You’re welcome,” I smile and clasp the hook of the necklace around her neck. “I wanted you to always have a flower with you even if I can’t bring you one.”

I haven’t been able to give her a flower this entire trip. The mountains in December are not ideal when trying to find flowers. If I had known where we were going, I would have planned and brought some to gift her each day.

Lifting the pink flower from her chest, she looks down at it. It’s almost an exact replica of the first flower I gave her. I’m not sure how I lucked into finding it, but when I saw it in a shop window one day, I knew I had to get it for Coco. “It’s been killing you since we’ve been here, hasn’t it?”

She knows me so well.

“A little bit.” Seeing her so happy has my dick hardening in my pants. Even though it’s only been a short while, I need to be inside her again. Grabbing her by the hips, I pull her to straddle my thighs. My hands go to the globes of her ass, and I knead the flesh as I pull her bottom lip between my teeth.

I have a feeling it will take us all day and maybe even the next if this is the reaction I get after I watch her open one present—and that’s perfectly fine with me. I’m in no rush. I want to treasure every single moment with Coco. Today. Tomorrow. Forever.
