“There’s more?” Sadie asked, sounding dazed. She looked like an angel fallen from heaven, her blonde curls spread around her head, her face rosy with a delicious flush I could really get used to. All I wanted to do was keep her on her back and screaming with pleasure. Or her front. Or sitting. Or kneeling. Or on all fours.

I wanted her every way I could possibly have her.

I had to remind myself that there was time. We had all the time in the world. No one visited this dump — not even the cops. And no one would interrupt the plans that I had for the two of us.

“I want to be inside you,” I said.

That fucking blush. I loved it. It made me want to just rip my pants open and plunge inside of her without any warning. I could barely control myself. “Your fingers already were inside me, Misha.”

“You know what I mean, malysh.”

She bit her perfect lower lip, looking at me. Her hazel eyes were still a little glassy from her orgasm. If I didn’t think she’d be offended, I’d want a photo of her like this. Undone. Vulnerable. Ready for more and not sure how to ask for it.

“Did you bring a condom?” she asked.

My hopes and dreams came crashing down. “Ebat,” I groused. “First the wine glasses and now this. I’m a fucking idiot, Sadie.”

“You’re not an idiot. I could’ve brought them too, and I didn’t think about it.”

This was ridiculous. “You shouldn’t have to think about it. It was my responsibility.” I tried to think. “The gas station should be open. I could run over there really quick and be back as fast as I can.”

“The gas station’s thirty minutes away,” she reminded me. “That’s an hour roundtrip — if it’s actually open and if they even have condoms in stock.”

“We’re going to have to raincheck this, then,” I said. “I’m sorry. I’ll plan better next time.”

I could see what she wanted to say. It was always the same thing — that we were adults. That we should be living together. That if we shared a space and a bed, we’d share a drawer that was full of condoms we could use whenever and however we wanted.

Well. That was just my variation on the theme. Sadie was rather adamant about wanting our own apartment, but I just couldn’t move out on Jonathan. We’d agreed to live together because we wanted to start our own business together. Plus, neither of us could afford an apartment without the other.

There were other things too. Like an unspoken code I hesitated to break — the one that said you weren’t supposed to fuck your best friend’s sister. Or date her.

I was breaking that code right now, but I’d still do anything to support the dreams Jonathan and I had for our future. And to respect the Ware family and everything they had done for me when I’d first come to live in America, lost and homesick and more than a little pathetic.

But then Sadie surprised me.

“Let’s just do it,” she blurted.

“Are you really quoting Nike at me?” I asked. “At a time like this?”

“We’re here. For once, we’ve both found time to be together.” Sadie gestured at the candles dripping wax down the fallen chandelier. “Let’s take advantage of it.”

“There will be other times,” I tried. “Better times. Where we can fuck in a bed, at least.”

“I want you,” she said, and that was all the argument she needed to make. I was so hard it hurt, and I was on her in a flash, ravishing her neck.

“In the morning, I’ll take you to get the morning after pill,” I promised her. “And I’ll start carrying condoms in my wallet.”

“You’re not supposed to do that,” she said, panting and gripping my hair in her fingers. I doubted she was even aware of what she was doing. “They said in health class that the wear and tear could affect it.”

“I will carry a man purse full of condoms.”

Sadie laughed, but it turned into a moan as I took her earlobe in my mouth and sucked. There was nothing sweeter than this. Nothing I wanted more. God. I’d wanted it for so long that it somehow felt surreal. Like a dream.

I freed my cock as I kicked off my pants, and it sprung up, angry and eager for attention. Sadie eyed its length, looking nervous again.
