“Harris Rawlins.” Harris extended his hand to the bloke.

“Jeremy Huntington. I manage this motley crew.” Jeremy waved his hands at the band. “I was about to ask your beautiful friend here for her number. I hope you don’t mind?”

“Nope. I’m with this lady.” Harris hooked his tatted arm around my shoulders and pecked my cheek.

“Brilliant. So, what about it, then?” Jeremy’s striking blue eyes met Sienna’s.

She pressed her lips together. “It’s not like you need it.”

“Well, at least that’s better than a ‘no.’”

Sienna moved closer to him. “If you win a shot challenge against me, Imightgive it to you.”

“You think you can out-drink me, sugar?”

“We’ll see, won’t we?”

“Right. Intermission. Be prepared.”

“See you in Hell.” Sienna tried to look all threatening, but she ended up giggling instead.

It was obvious Jeremy found her endearing. He winked at her before he sauntered away to the back of the stage.

I grabbed her wrist and hissed, “Sienna, what are you doing?”

“Apparently, I’m going to do a drinking challenge.” She moved toward the stage again.

Harris and I glanced at each other.“I’m guessing nothing’s going to stop her?” Harris asked.

“Nope. Once her mind is set on something, not much can change it.”

Harris nudged me. “Ah, so that’s where you get it from?”

I laughed a little. “No, chef. Mine’s all me.”

After a couple more songs, the singer dropped his guitar strap from his shoulders. “We’re going to take a short break. See you soon.”

“I guess we’re up. Are you sure about this, Sienna?” I asked my friend.

Her eyes shone with determination. “Oh yes, I’m going to kick Jeremy’s ass.”

“Do you know him?”

She gulped. “How can you tell?”

“It’s pretty damn obvious,” Harris said.

Sienna sighed and admitted, “Jeremy lives across the hallway from me. I’m not sure why he needs my number, considering. Hence, the challenge.”

“Be careful, okay?”

Sienna wrapped her arms around me. “Oh, Lou. Always the worrier. I’m so glad you have my back.”

I grinned but folded my arms. “I always will.”

We saw Jeremy talking closely to the lead singer, who glanced at us. Soon, Jeremy joined us once again. “What are we drinking?”

“Vodka shots. Five of them.”
