“Let is a strong word.”

“You let him, and we both know it.”

Kon smiled and then grimaced at the motion. “Yeah, well, know this - from the moment we met, until the day I die… there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you.”

Epilogue

The wedding was one of the most talked about in the city. No expense was spared in presenting the event that was supposed to demonstrate the united front of the Ivanovs and Songs, and by extension, the Lucianos. If it was making the other two families in the city nervous that such a huge alliance had formed, I wouldn’t have been surprised.

A knock sounded shortly at the door from the adjoining room. “Are you decent?” A deep voice that always sent a thrill through me, demanded from the other side, just before it opened.

“You do know you’re supposed to wait for an answer before opening the door, right?” I teased my soon-to-be husband. He looked dressed to kill in a black suit, the designer cut gaining a dangerous edge from his tattoos and general air of mayhem. He closed the door, and leaned against it, eyeing me from head to toe.

“Where’s the fun in that? And besides, how am I ever going to catch you being indecent if I wait for you to answer?” He stalked toward me and I watched him in the mirror. I was standing before a full-length mirror and had been staring at my body. It was changing in ways I was thrilled and intrigued to see. My breasts were growing heavier and my nipples had darkened, while my belly swelled slightly. I still had four months to go, and apparently, it wasn’t unusual not to show too much yet, but every time I stood to the side and looked at my gently growing belly, I felt a thrill.

Kon pulled me into his arms, resting his front against my back, and stared at my reflection over my shoulder. I was wearing pale pink and white underwear, and his eyes roamed over my blooming body.

“Christ, do you have any idea what seeing you like this makes me want to do to you?”

“What?” I baited, enjoying all the ways my fiancé made me feel beautiful, even in my changing body.

“Dirty, depraved things.” His mutter made the hair on my nape prickle. He slid his hands around my hips and brought them to roam across my front. His tattooed knuckles looked violent against the pink and white, innocent-looking background of my wedding lingerie.

“Hmm, that sounds promising. Is it in your vows?”

Kon chuckled and nodded. “Of course. I vow to worship and defile you, as long as we both shall live. How’s that, do you like it?”

“I love it,” I gasped, as his hands delved into the lace of my half-cup bra. “We don’t have time for that.”

“We always have time for that. Did you reschedule your meeting with your advisor?” he asked, suddenly changing the subject, even as his thumb closed over my nipple. I struggled to concentrate as he tugged on it.

“Yes, it’s after the honeymoon, so I’ll need to study a little while we’re away.”

“Fine by me, Cinderella, you look sexy as sin when you wear your glasses and chew on your pen lid.”

“And you always distract me,” I complained.

“You like it when I distract you,” he reminded me. I sighed and nodded.

There wasn’t even any point in denying it. The truth was, Kon supported my study time, library time, and anything else. I was finishing my studies, regardless of the upcoming birth and for the first time in my life, I was living for the things I wanted, and I knew they couldn’t just be taken away from me. My husband wouldn’t let them be. He was always in my corner.

“You’re right. I do,” I murmured, my eyes drifting up to the clock on the wall. “If you work really fast, you can distract me a couple of times before the hairdresser gets here.”

Kon raised an eyebrow. “Where’s your sister and mine?”

“Went to grab something to eat… we’re all alone,” I said and raised an eyebrow suggestively at him.

“In that case, I have something I need your help with… I just don’t know what to do about it,” he growled, and turned me around, taking a hand and pressing it to the rabid hard-on tenting his pants. “That snooty Italian designer your brother had sent, said it’s ruining the line of my suit. So I told him I’d come and see you, and try and get rid of it,” he smirked as my cheeks flamed.

“You did not! You wouldn't dare!”

Kon laughed, and pulled me close, pressing a kiss to my lips that was scorching and full of intent, before pulling back an inch. “When are you going to realize, Cinderella, when it comes to you, there’s nothing I wouldn’t dare to do.”
