The waitress who brought our menus eyed my men—my men!—like a delicious snack. Benedict pulled mine out of my hands when I accepted it, then leaned over and whispered against my shoulder, sending shivers through my entire body. “I thought you were going to let me take care of you.”

“That includes my meal choices?”

The waitress slid her eyes to James, who wrapped his fingers around mine. “Be a good girl for Benedict, sweetheart.”

My breath whooshed out of me. Good thing my panties were already wet and ruined from earlier.

“Okay,” I whispered, trying not to squirm in my seat.

My men ordered drinks and an assortment of appetizers and small plates as the waitress eyed me. Her expression turned to worry as she noted Benedict’s arm around my shoulder, squeezing me tight at the same time that James gripped my hand.

A few minutes later, she returned with a bottle of wine and four glasses.

“I need to use the restroom, please,” I said, nudging my hip into Benedict’s.

He rose, letting me scoot out of the booth. As I tugged on the hem of my dress, his eyes roamed over me. “Perhaps letting you out of the room in that dress was a mistake,” he muttered, his voice raspy and dark.

“Too late now,” I said, grinning and adding an extra pop to the sway of my hips as I walked away.

The waitress found me in the restroom fixing my make-up. She splashed her face with cold water as I applied new lipstick, then leaned back against the sink, watching me.

“Are you okay, love?” she asked.

I paused. “I’m sorry?”

“Those guys. Do you need help getting out?”

Oh. Oh. She thought I was—I laughed merrily! “Oh, my goodness, no. I’m with them because I want to be.”

She frowned. “We see girls trafficked through here all the time, on their way to and from the ski resorts. If you need a hand, just order an ‘Angel shot,’ from any of the staff at the restaurant, then excuse yourself to come to the bathroom, okay?”

I put my make-up away and turned toward her. “Thanks for checking on me. I caught my fiancé cheating a few days ago, and then got stuck in Denver on my way to spend Christmas with my parents instead. I met these men in the airport and they’re, uh, cheering me up until my flight is rescheduled.”

Her eyes widened. “Is ‘cheering you up’ a euphemism for what I think it is?”

My cheeks flushed as I nodded.

“All three?”

I nodded again.

She grinned. “Damn, girl!”

“Yeah, it’s really been something.”

“Well, if things go sideways and you need help, any of the bars or restaurants in the area know the code, okay? Angel shot.”

“Angel shot. Got it,” I repeated. “Thanks for checking. I appreciate it.”

Chapter Nine

Piper

THE MEN WATCHED ME as I wove my way through the tables on my way back to them, raw need flashing in their eyes. Ibrahim and James huddled against one another, their hands tangled together on the table.

“Everything okay?” Benedict murmured against my hair as I brushed by him to slide into my spot.

I grinned at him, trying to ignore the hand that James set on my knee under the tablecloth. “Our waitress stopped me in the restroom. She was worried you all were taking advantage of me. I reassured her the opposite is the case.”
