I placed the phone down and hit the speaker as I dressed. “That I can see.”

“Samson Morozov—”

“Wait, as in Miranda Morozov?” It could be a coincidence. Plenty of people had the same last name as someone famous.

“Yes, that is his mother. As you know, his mother was one of the top models and still is sought after. She owns most of the art galleries, but his father is the one most sought out here. He currently runs the underground.”

“Underground?”

Mac sighed. “Yeah, like the black market. Anyway, Samson is popular. His goodlooks and celebrity status in the school give him power, but...”

I stopped brushing my hair and stared at the phone. “But? Don’t hold out on me now, Mac.”

“It’s hard to explain. You will just have to experience Samson yourself.”

“Alright. What about the psycho one?”

He had almond-shaped eyes that were two different colors, a piercing in his left brow, a single scar over his eye, a small nose, and soft cheekbones. I could see him clearly. A few drops of blood splattered on his handsome face, along with a broad smile. I remembered how his hard body had felt against mine, each muscle in his back that I had pounded against. Let alone his round ass.

Shit, I could picture every single one of them. They each pissed me off, especially Luxious. That pompous ass was going to regret claiming me.

“Hawke Choi. He comes from old money, but his family has disowned him. That erases his economic standing. Like Rem, his power is from violence and favors, but he is unhinged, and no one in their right mind will go near him.”

“He can’t be that bad.”

Mac was silent, and a part of me wanted to ask him why. It might be one of those things I had to see to believe. I grabbed a pair of comfortable-looking heels that would match. I also made sure to pack running shoes. There was no way I would last long in heels.

“Anything else I need to know?”

“Yeah, don’t do anything stupid, Keegan. You’re new, which means everyone will have eyes on you.”

“Wow, I go from unpopular to the talk of the school.”

“More like city. Aridole is a big place, but the network is always moving.”

That’s not creepy at all.I shook off the unease. “Good to know, I guess.”

I checked myself out in the mirror, adding some light makeup. I was no professional, but the last thing I would do was call my mother for help.

“See you at school, Keegan, and don’t be—”

“Late, got it.” I hung up and blew out a breath.

List of things to do. Get the next payment to Wakeman, deal with him for an entire weekend, deal with the kings, and try and figure out what was happening with Richard and my mom. And if I had time, save my mother from her own doom again.

I staredat my hands on the steering wheel. Was I really about to give myself a pep talk to walk into school? A groan scraped against my throat and broke free against my will. My head fell forward, and I rested it against the steering wheel.

“New school, not a big deal.” Except it felt like another major life event. “This is stupid.”

Knocking on my window made me jump up. I turned with my heart lodged in my lungs. Green and brown eyes stared back at me, rimmed with black liner, drawing more attention to his heterochromia eyes. A smile stretched his pink pouty lips. His black hair hung in front of his face as if he rolled out of bed and came to school without care.

My attention was drawn to his eyes once more. They regularly appeared in my dreams lately. Along with three other pairs. I shook my head, pulling myself out of my stupor. I flipped Hawke off, and he burst out laughing.

“Come on out.” His lips stretched further, showing off his straight white teeth. “Or I can come and get you.”

I shut the car off and opened my door, forcing Hawke back, aka one of the kings. I’d given in and asked Mac. He said it was best I knew anyway or some shit. Honestly, I’d be fine if everyone left me the fuck alone for the rest of the year.

“Do you mind?” I said and grabbed my backpack from the back seat.
