“Leave it on the bed,” Keegan said, poking her head out of the closet. She did a double take, and I couldn’t help but think she liked what she saw.

I returned to the bathroom to retrieve my phone. For a split second, I thought about powering it on, but this way would be more fun. Lux was undoubtedly about to fly off the handle, and I was surprised Rem hadn’t broken into the room already.

Keegan sat in the middle of her bed, a cookie held between her sweet-looking lips. I tied up half of my wet hair out of my face and got into Keegan’s bed. She looked at me like I’d grown a second head, and I couldn’t help but smile at her.

“Don’t worry. I only bite a little.”

Laughter filled the room as Keegan shook her head at me. She looked pretty laughing too. I still whole heartily believed she looked best angry.

“Wonder what you’d look like with blood splashed all over you?”

Keegan stared at me. “If you think about killing an animal and painting me in blood, just know I will slice your fucking balls off and use them as a hacky sack.”

“You’d keep them?” My smile grew as I got excited. She’d keep a memento of me after causing me great pain.

“That’s not...” She groaned. “Never mind, how long are you sticking around?”

I shrugged. “I have nothing else to do today.”

“And this gives Samson a break from watching me.” Keegan’s gaze was unwavering as she waited for me to deny it.

I nodded. There was no need to hide that we were watching her.

“Why are you guys watching me?”

“I’mwatching you because I like you, Corpse. There aren’t many people who grab my attention.”

Keegan gawked at me, and I tilted my head, going over everything I’d said. Had I said something surprising?

“You like me?”

“I thought it was obvious.”

Her mouth opened and closed before she turned away from me. She grabbed her backpack and pulled out her textbooks. She opened them up, and I flopped back against the bed, never letting my gaze waver from her.

“You’re staring. I’m not going anywhere,” Keegan said, breaking the comfortable silence.

“I know that.”

She snapped the textbook closed, not that she’d been reading it. Keegan had been on the same page for the past few minutes, and it wasn’t even what we were currently learning. She turned back around and stopped short, seeing how close I’d moved toward her.

I grinned at her, batting my lashes innocently. She wasn’t buying it but didn’t move away either.

“Why are you guys watching me?” She held up her hand. “Yes, I know your reason, but why the others?”

I shrugged, and she squinted at me. “What do I get if I tell you?”

A single brow lifted, and before I knew it, Keegan was on top of me. Her thighs rested on each side of my hips. Her hair smelled of the vanilla shampoo surrounding us, making me want to take a bite out of her.

Keegan grabbed both of my wrists and pinned them above me. She leaned close, her mouth inches away from mine. “Depends, Hawke. What do you want?”

“Everything.”

Her hands went slack, and I took the opportunity and stole her mouth in a heated kiss. My teeth sank into her bottom lip, and I tugged. She ground down against me as I let her go and kissed her harder.

The kiss broke off, and instead of breathing her in, I had to suck in air. It wasn’t nearly as sweet or intoxicating. Her pupils were blown as she licked her bottom lip.

“I did warn you I bite,” I said.
