Not all celebrity relationships were dumpster fires after all.

“Thanks, Jayne. That means more to me than you know. After Ariel and everything, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do this again. But for you to think Briar and I have got a chance of making it? I don’t think I have to tell you how much that means to me. You’ve felt like an older sister to me since I signed on with your firm. I really appreciate everything you’ve done for me.”

Jayne blinked and turned her head away as she wiped at her eyes. “Thank you, Kingston. And I really appreciate you calling me an older sister and not a mother figure.”

I laughed with her, shaking my head. Women. But honestly, the past couple of years, Jayne filled a void not having my mom in my life had left me with. So she kinda had been a mother figure for me. Not that I was stupid enough to say it out loud. After a moment, I asked, “So Ilan’s number? Do you have it?”

Jayne shook her head. “I can dig around. I’m sure Ben does. Let me text him.”

“Nah, that’s okay. I have an in with him.”

“Okay. Um, pretty sure everything else you have on your plate can wait until after you’ve sorted all that out. Do you need me to hang around and help with Ilan?”

“Thanks, Jayne, but I think I can handle it.”

“Okay.” She smiled as she stood and headed for the door. “Congrats. And I think we both know you’re a lucky man.”

“I do. I mean, I am.”

Jayne smirked as she let herself out of the trailer. A few beats after the door closed, I heard her light laughter as she walked away.

I grinned. It was a pretty awesome slip of the tongue after all.

Shaking my head, I turned my cell back on, and navigated to my texts with my other brother. I ignored all his texts checking in with me because of the pictures and typed out a quick message.

Me:I need Ilan Ice’s contact info. Do you have his direct number?

Surprisingly Rome texted back quickly. I only had to pace around my trailer for a few minutes before he replied.

Rome:Shit, I knew I should’ve come down. You sure?

Me:Yup

Rome.Fine. Expect me and Sophia in a few days. Here ya go

He attached Ilan’s info.

Rome:Congrats, bro. I’m happy for you and Zoe. Can’t wait to meet my new little sister

I grinned. That sounded kinda awesome to me. Family.

I tapped on Ilan’s contact info and called him.

“You got Ilan.”

“Ilan, it’s Kingston Grier. How soon can you get out to Century City with some engagement rings for me to look at?”

“What kind of style are you thinking of? What’s your girl like?”

I snorted. “I know jack shit about rings. That’s your department. But I know I want the best for my girl. Something that looks antique but not ostentatious. My girl is classy, but I want her to be comfortable to wear it every day.”

“I feel you, I feel you. I have a few rings in mind. Give me an hour?”

“Can’t wait to see you. And uh, no need to be discreet. My girl is currently out trying on wedding dresses. I think it’s safe to say the secret is out.”

He grunted. “Text me the meetup location details. See ya soon.”

I pumped my fist as I ended the call.
