"I managed to convince her to stay through New Year’s, but I don't think she'll be able to stay longer than that," I reply sadly.

"Really? That's great," Finn says.

"That gives me more time to tell her all the reasons she should stay," Oakley adds.

I wish it were that easy.

"I'm taking her to the pub tonight if you wanna join us? Probably get there around eight."

They look at each other and smile. "Yeah, we'll meet ya," Finn says.

"We can chat about the wedding, too!" Oakley's eyes light up.

Grinning, I slap his shoulder. "Awesome, see ya there. I gotta get back to work."

"Damn!" Finn whistles as Fallon makes another bull’s-eye. "She's kicking your ass."

Fallon smirks wickedly.

"I think she's cheating," I deadpan.

"How do you cheat at darts?" Oakley defends.

"I don't know...but I'm gonna figure it out." I watch as she takes another shot and again, hits the center.

Oakley cheers loudly for Fallon, and they high-five. Somehow this round became a game of boys versus girls, and they're killing it. My friends have welcomed her into their lives so easily, it's impossible not to think about the long term.

"Good luck..." Fallon says as she hands me the darts. "You're gonna need it."

I give her a side-eye, no longer playing just for orgasms, but because I'm competitive too.

As soon as I take my stance, Fallon stands next to me, sipping her drink. When I look at her, she flashes a mischievous grin.

"Yes?" I ask.

She shrugs, the alcohol effectively loosening her up, but not enough to affect her aim.

"Go sit, I don't trust you so close to me."

Fallon giggles. "I'm not doing anything."

"You're trying to distract me."

"Noooo," she stammers. "If that were the case, I'd take off my shirt and do a few jumping jacks."

My mind immediately brings that visual to life.

"Go to the table," I warn playfully. "Or I'll have to call a foul."

"Go ahead. I'll call traveling, then."

Finn snorts behind us.

"That's basket—" I shake my head at her wrong sports reference. "Never mind. Stand behind me, or you forfeit."

She scowls and finally moves out of my vision.

"Stay focused, man," Finn encourages. "If we win, I get a BJ."
