Snickering, I unlocked the doors to Cherry so he could climb in. I should have started the car to let it warm up. This morning was frigid, and my balls were shriveling up. Shit. This guy, Cameron Masters, wanted to do some videos outside too. Being from warmer temperatures, he’d probably change his tune real quick.

“You know, people always talk about the popular crowd being the jocks or the beautiful people. But you nerds have your own upper echelon too.” I grinned over at little brother.

He snorted. “It’s true. I won’t deny it. Now. Where are we meeting? What are we doing? Am I the camera man? You know, this would have been a really good time for Astrid to be here since photography is her thing.”

I fiddled with the heat and radio until I was content with the air and the song choice. Then I rubbed my hands together and blew hot breath on my fingers. They were already icicles and holding the freezing steering wheel wouldn’t help. At least I’d packed some winter gear in the backseat for Jonah and me. Although I don’t know how sexy we’ll be in the TikToks if we look like young Michelin men.

“I wish she could have been here too, but there will be other times for her to film me. Many, many more times.” Because now I wouldn’t be such an idiot. I knew what the limits were, and I was a truth telling machine. If I had the slightest doubt that Astrid would want to know, I’d tell her everything.

And I felt more optimistic about our future than ever. Rhys was the one who seemed to take my place as resident idiot. I chuckled, earning a sharp glance from Jonah. With four of us in the mix, or five if you count Astrid, we’d all undoubtedly take a turn in that role at some point.

Jonah didn’t respond as he pulled his laptop out of the bag I hadn’t realized he was carrying. I rolled my eyes. He was committed, that was for sure. Once he put his mind to something, he went balls to the wall.

“What are you working on today?”

“I’m actually doing something not related to school.”

I glanced over at the hint of shyness in his voice. “That’s not suspicious at all.”

He huffed out a laugh. “I’ll tell you when I have more details. Not yet, okay?”

“Fine, fine. I can let it go if it embarrasses you. Although, that just makes me think you’re researching sex toys or something.”

The flush on his face deepened as he grinned. “I mean, I have looked at those. Astrid has plenty of dicks, but she might like something with vibration…”

Barking out my own laugh, I took a moment to appreciate that we hadn’t grown up as true brothers. I enjoyed having this type of relationship with him, and if we’d lived feet from each other all our lives, this probably wouldn’t have been possible.

The conversation died at that point as I started singing toSweet Creatureby Harry Styles. Call me a sap, but I really dug the love songs. Clearly, since that was the major genre I sang in.

We pulled into the upper parking lot at Red Rocks Amphitheater. I should have known if this guy was new to Denver he’d want to hit this place. It was an epic venue. Open, built into the side of the foothills, using the rocks on either side as natural acoustics.

Jonah still had his head down as he clicked through screen after screen on his laptop. When he was typing, the noise nearly eclipsed the music. He was an angry typer. Not that I expected anything less from him, given his A-type personality.

A white van was parked close to the entrance that had to be Cameron. One, it was January. Hardly anyone came to Red Rocks when there was snow on the ground unless they were crazy or avid tourists. Especially when we’d had snow recently. The rock steps were a hazard when covered in ice and snow.

I parked next to the van, peeking in without trying to be obvious about it. Cameron was in the passenger seat doing something on his phone. I mean, of course, he was a TikToker.

And a fucking famous one. The last time I looked he had something like twenty million followers. He was a sexy man, playing up on his good looks in a subtle way on his account. I had to hand it to him, he could probably get a lot more followers if he did all his videos shirtless and in gray sweatpants, but he seemed to want to get there on his talent in singing and mixing songs over climbing the ranks through sex appeal.

He was also only a few years older than me and had an equal obsession with love songs. Collaborating with him was a no-brainer. Better him than some fifteen or sixteen year old entitled prick.

When he looked up, he grinned and jumped out of the van. “Hey, Beck. It’s great to meet you!”

I got out and he grabbed my hand, pulling me into a half hug and patting my back. “Hey. Glad you made it here okay.”

Jonah must have realized we were here when my door closed. He got out and came around the hood of the car, stretching his hand out. An easy smile was on his face as he looked Cameron over. The class president was in full residence.

I smirked.

“Cameron, this is my brother Jonah. Jonah, Cameron.”

After they shook hands, I looked out over the top of Red Rocks straight to the city of Denver. A few videos up here would be cool. Maybe a few down on the stage. Since there wasn’t a show planned, or hell even concert season, we could go right down to the stage.

Now as far as dreams went, all the big artists had played here. This was a dream of mine. But right now, it didn’t even seem possible.

“Have you had a chance to check the place out?” I asked as I looked over Cameron’s clothes. Jeans, boots, a heavy jacket, and a matching beanie. At least he’d dressed for the weather.

“Yeah, I was here last night. I got some individual vids. So,” he started to walk toward the top railing. Jonah and I followed close behind. “I was thinking we could do maybe four or five videos a piece. We can save in our drafts to release periodically, but we should coordinate when we drop the first ones. Also, there are a few other creators I know who will be through here in a few weeks. I could hook you up with them if you want.” He glanced back.
