“Why’d you leave?”
“I didn’t think it would be good to spend the night in your sister’s apartment. But I gave you my address. Stop by whenever you want. I am more than happy to pick up where we left off.”
“I’m already in bed. Are you free tomorrow night?”
London’s heart raced. She’d expected him to wait until their business was done. “I can be.”
“Do you want to go out?”
“Why don’t you come over and we’ll order in?”
Silence met her question.
“Ezra?”
“I’m here. I’m trying to decide if you’re just using me for my forearms.”
“Would it be a deal-breaker if I was?”
“Not really.”
“I told you earlier that I’m not looking for a relationship. Work stuff is keeping me super busy and I need to focus on that. But I like you and I want to sleep with you.”
“I can live with that. Call me when you’re free.”
“I will.” She smiled, even though he couldn’t see it. “Good night.”
“Night. Sleep well.”
She wasn’t sure she’d be sleeping well given that he’d be starring in her dreams again. One more night. She could make it.

Way too early the following morning, London’s phone was ringing again. She slapped her hand at it to make it stop. Without opening her eyes, she fumbled to press the button to answer. “Yeah?”
“What the hell, London? I’ve been calling for like an hour.”
Nikki yelling in her ear was not how she wanted to start any day. She cringed and held the phone away from her ear. When the yelling subsided, she asked, “What do you want?”
“Dude. It’s almost noon. Are you still in bed?”
“No.” London pushed up off the couch where she’d fallen asleep. Technically not bed. “I worked on the topper really late last night and then got stuck by the snow.”
“Is it done?”
“I think so, but I won’t know for another day or two. Why are you calling?”
“Oh, yeah. We need you for a party tonight.”
“Huh?”
“Audrey just found out that Walter Peters is having a Christmas party. Mia is slacking in getting us intel.”
“Mia isn’t supposed to be doing anything anymore, remember?”
“Yeah, but she could’ve mentioned being invited to the party.”
“Wasn’t Jared invited?”
