“You didn’t want to drive them back yourself?” I ask JD after he had sent Amy and Bridget off with his driver in the Cullinan.

“Nah,” JD replies as he flops down on the sofa Bridget and I occupied earlier. “Already scored with her tonight. Plus, I didn’t want to waste your time dragging you over to Berkeley.”

“You don’t give a shit about wasting my time,” I say as I sit down opposite him. “So, you gonna see her again?”

JD opens his cigarette case and lights one. “You mean Amy?”

“No, I was referring to Oprah Winfrey.”

After blowing out a long trail of smoke, he replies, “Yeah, I think so. I mean, she’s pretty damn cute. And I didn’t get to see her completely naked. Sorry you got stuck with her roommate for so long. I didn’t think she’d bring the same friend again.”

I don’t believe JD is that sorry, but I say, “It wasn’t so bad.”

“You’re a trooper, bro. I promise it’ll just be me and Amy next time.”

I consider the prospect of never seeing Bridget again. It’s probably for the best. I don’t need to spend time with some bleeding heart who will make me feel guilty if I don’t spend every spare penny helping someone in need.

Would have been cool to see her climax, though.

“It’s actually kind of fun messing with her,” I say.

JD rolls his eyes. “I thought she would never shut up about that hunting endangered species shit.”

I lean back into the sofa and put my hands behind my head, smiling as I recall Eric frowning in discomfort. “Maybe Eric had it coming to him.”

“You’re not on her side, are you?”

“I don’t know what it is about the guy that rubs me the wrong way.”

“You’re a businessman. You’ve got to look past that shit. It’s worth putting up with him because it’ll pay dividends later.”

“What if his dad doesn’t win the election? He hasn’t even made it past the primary.”

JD draws on his cigarette before answering, “It’s a low-risk gamble. What’s the worst-case scenario? I lose a couple grand supporting his dad’s election bid.”

“He wants us to invest in his resort.”

“Yeah, but it’ll help us stand out from the rest of his donors.” He puts out the cigarette. “Want to head over to the club? I told Olga I might swing by.”

“You’re going to get with Olga the same night you did it with Amy?”

JD gives me a what-are-you-talking-about look. “Why the hell not?”

The following morning, the woman next to me in bed stirs against me and the first thing that flashes through my head is Bridget.

Fucking Bridget Moore.

The play session I had last night at The Lotus wasn’t bad, and I thought it would be good enough to kick Bridget out of my system. She’s the one who didn’t come during the foot massage, so why am I the one who feels incomplete?

“You want breakfast?” I ask Emma.

She snuggles closer to me, puts her hand beneath the covers and squeezes my cock. “You bet I do.”
