Hands shaking, I say, “I want to make a call.”

“To whom?” Jack asks calmly.

“None of your fucking business. Just give me a damn phone.”

“He’s not there.”

I pale. “Who?”

“Chase.”

“Wh-What do you mean?”

“There’s me, four of my men, Andrian, and two of his men. You’re outnumbered, so the best thing for you—”

“Where’s my bodyguard? Where’s Chase?”

I guess the answer from his silence. Shit. Shit. Shit. Maybe Jack’s lying. Maybe Chase is just incapacitated. Or still in San Francisco.

“You had this all planned out?” I nearly scream.

“You walked right into it. In fact, you set it up yourself.”

I did?

I did. Fuck me. What I thought was the universe doing something nice for me turned out to be a cruel joke. And now I’m all alone—and fucking naked—in a cabin full of men who have done god knows what!

“You’re going to get me a phone,” I say with more calm than I feel, “and the keys to your car.”

Jack looks me over and smirks. “You’re leaving in your birthday suit? You should have dressed when you had the chance, princess.”

“Shut up!”

“You’re not going anywhere.”

The shaking inside my body intensifies. “I thought we were done. End of story.”

“It’s the end of your fairy tale. Your dad gets to have you back when he returns what’s rightfully mine.”

This just gets worse.

“Too bad,” I say. “I’m leaving, by myself if you don’t want anyone to get shot.”

“You’re not shooting anyone.”

“Try me. I happen to have really good aim.”

He starts walking toward me, causing my nerves to explode with alarm.

“Stop!” I cry. “Stay the fuck where you are!”

“I’m giving you a better target.”

“Iwillshoot you, asshole.”

I can’t believe I thought he was the Dom of my dreams. I can’t believe I was falling for him.

“You’re a spoiled princess who’s lived all her life in an ivory tower,” he says. “You don’t have what it takes to pull the trigger.”
