I shiver from his warm breath on my neck. “It is,” I say, picking up my drink to cheer him on. Needing the cool liquid to calm my scorching body.

“To us. May every Christmas Eve bring us more love and good times.” He holds my gaze with a longing look, and the way it makes me feel has me biting my lip.

His words send a warm feeling running through me.

We clink glasses, and I take a sip.

“I haven’t had this since last time,” I mumble before adding, “This could be dangerous.”

He looks at me with the same desire, and I know he’s thinking back to that night at the bar and what happened after we drank these.

“Same.” He sips, and I can’t help but watch him drink it and appreciate the bob of his Adam’s apple.

I lick my lips, tasting the residue. “I forgot how good it was.”

He nods, but his eyes narrow at watching my tongue. I suck in a breath, expecting him to kiss me with the way he’s staring at me like he wants to eat me.

“So, are we going to play truth or dare?” I drink more, needing a slight buzz to calm the nerves. But also, this game could be fun.

He tips his head back and laughs before standing to shrug out of his jacket. Showing me his white shirt that hides his taunt toned body that I can’t wait to touch tonight. I wish we could skip dinner and go straight to dessert. And this bar is full, so here is not an option.

“If you want.” He stares at me with mischief. I don’t want to seem too keen, so I shrug. “Why not?”

He rubs his chin, his gaze fixed on me, before dragging them over my body. “Only one problem. I know a lot about you.”

“I guess dare needs to be used more tonight, then.” I move to cross my legs, my foot brushing his calf, and the simple movement has my skin prickling with goosebumps.

He shakes his head, but he looks down at my foot, totally transfixed by the movement. “This could be a really bad idea.” His voice sounds strained, as if the soft strokes are affecting him, and it gives me the confidence boost I need.

“Are you scared?” I raise a brow, but my lips want to widen into a large smirk. I love teasing him.

“No. But let me order another round.” Gripping his drink tightly, he throws it back and swallows.

He waves down the bartender and orders us another round. I watch in awe at how even the bartender is focused on him. You can’t help but be sucked in by his presence. He demands your attention without you even realizing.

We get our drinks, and I take a big sip before asking, “Did you want me to go first?”

He runs his hand through his hair, messing his perfectly styled locks. “Yeah.”

“Dare.”

He shakes his head and then looks around before focusing on me. “Ask someone to take our photo when we are kissing each other.”

I find a woman in her twenties as I slide off my stool, and I just know she will know how to take a cute picture. This dare is a good one. A minute later, the photo is taken, and we thank the woman.

“Your turn,” I say with a smirk, and he sips his drink, unexpectedly leaning toward me and whispering in my ear, “Dare.”

I tap my lips with my finger, seeing his phone sitting on the bar, and it gives me an idea. A wicked smile spreads on my face as I speak. “Write a love letter to me and post it on your socials.”

“Easy,” he says, grabbing his phone.

There’s no hesitation as he types away. Then I get to read it only a moment later.

Bella

I love you from the very depths of my heart. There’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t do to keep us together. You have shown me what it means to be loved and love with all of myself in my most sincere form.

I love you beyond words, and the best is yet to come.
