“Come, now,” he demands.

And I do, grabbing hold of his neck with a scream of his name. His cock grows, and he pulses inside me, letting me know he’s coming too.

When he stops moving, I unlock my ankles and lay them on either side of his hips. I’m completely exhausted.

“Now, for the best part.”

“Hold me,” I say, finishing his thought.

“My pleasure.”

He pulls the blanket from under me, and we both slip under. His arm snakes around my middle from behind, and his body scoots flush with my back.

“Get some rest,Bella,” he says with a kiss to my neck.

The doorbell wakes us. And I blink rapidly, trying to look around, but Marc is still holding on to me tightly.

He’s breathing heavily, and I can’t believe he’s not awake.

“Marc,” I say loudly.

He stirs, mumbling, “Bella.” But pulls me tighter to him.

“Marc,” I say, wiggling in his arms, and he startles.

The doorbell chimes again.

He lets me go and sits up, rubbing his eyes. Peering around, I try to find the time.

With no luck, I ask. “What’s the time?”

“Nine fifty-five.”

What? I never sleep this late.

“I better grab the door.”

We untangle and get out of bed. I slowly dress into one of his tops and pants, both of which I’m swimming in.

“Bathroom?” I ask.

“Just through that door.”

“Thanks.”

I freshen up before I trek down the stairs and hear talking. Marc smiles when he sees me approach. I spot Aria, and she turns at the sound of my footsteps.

Her face falls as she looks at me and then back to Marc, and she asks, “What is she doing here?” She tried to whisper, but I lip-read. I mastered it from working in the bar, with people slurring or talking quietly. I couldn’t hear much over the crowd, music, or TVs.

My body freezes, and my stomach hardens. But she was so nice the other night.

“Aria,” Marc warns. “Be nice.”

“No. You didn’t tell me she was your girlfriend. You said, friend. I’m not okay with a girlfriend.”

I feel like my heart is ripping. His daughter doesn’t want me. It crossed my mind once. But I never thought that it would actually happen.

“We are not talking about this right now. It’s rude,” Marc says.
