Eli took my cue, stripping down until he was naked and standing before Halley. I could see his need to reach out and touch her, but we both knew she needed to be the one to make the choices.

“Tell us what you want sweetheart.”

“I want you both. Right now.” Halley’s words were breathy, and I knew that if I reached a hand down, a new wave of wetness would be mingling with her earlier arousal.

“Then take us.” I murmured and Halley dropped towards her knees before greedily taking Eli’s cock in her palm. Reaching forward, she licked up his shaft and I felt my own cock tighten at the sight. There was nothing fucking sexier than a woman who knew what she wanted.

Eli’s head fell back as Halley took him in as far as she could, her head bobbing up and down as Eli’s hands began to tangle in her curls. Reaching back with her empty hand, Halley scratched her nails down my thigh and I took the opportunity to give her the pleasure I knew she would give us both. Dropping to my knees, I instructed them both.

“Halley, hands and knees. Eli, drop down.”

Both listened, Halley continuing to suck Eli’s cock as I lined up my own with her pussy.

“Are you ready for us both?” I asked and I saw Halley’s nod as she continued to work Eli with her hands and mouth.

Thrusting forward, I sunk into her heat, groaning with pleasure as she pulsed around my length. Watching Halley’s movements, I timed my thrusts with her until the three of us were moving in sync, the only sounds our groans and moans as the pleasure consumed us all.

I felt myself coming towards the end but I was going to stand by my earlier words. “Remember sweetheart, you come first.”

Halley moaned around Eli as I found her clit, bringing her towards an orgasm again.

“Look at what you do to us Halls. Two men on their knees for you.” Eli groaned and I felt Halley tighten around my cock at his words. She liked knowing what she did to us, craved the feeling of power.

The three of us began to lose our rhythm as the pleasure built until I felt Halley tighten around me, her body pulsing with the feel of her orgasm and I followed right after, spilling into her. Eli’s resounding groan let me know that he had joined us. The three of us collapsed in exhaustion, looking up at the stars as we all caught our breath.

After moments of silence, Halley spoke. “Do you ever think the stars are looking down at us? That they’re making sure we’re okay down here?”

Tangling my fingers with hers, I squeezed, giving her comfort in the way I knew how. Thankfully, Eli had the words I couldn’t find.

“I think if they are, they made sure you were right where you needed to be.”

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Halley

After our moment alone, Eli, Madden, and I all walked back towards the campground we were staying at. The memories that this endeavor was bringing up were pinging around in my mind and I couldn’t help but feel like I had been here before. I knew Mom and I had lived all over the country, but I blocked out a lot of the time leading up to Mom’s death. I didn’t want to relive those moments if I didn’t have to.

Thankfully, I wasn’t living through the memories alone. Everywhere I turned, I had a shoulder to lean on and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I didn’t have the weight of the world on my shoulders. Even though the fate of the Divines rested on us finding the library, it was easier to carry when seven people were helping with the weight.

Walking into the clearing that held the tents, the fire was put out and all was quiet. Earlier, we had decided that I would share a tent with Kalani, Maeve, and Eli to give the other three more room. Madden pulled me into his arms, kissing me goodnight and I felt everything he didn’t say. I didn’t have to wonder if we were on the same page, his actions told me more than some peoples words ever could. Clapping Eli on the back, Madden entered his tent, leaving the two of us to walk to ours. Before we could enter, Eli pulled me to the side, holding me close.

“What’s wrong?” I questioned, nervous about the serious way he was glancing at me.

Cupping my cheeks in his comforting hands, he shook his head. “What’s wrong is that I have this feeling that every day could be our last. That were fighting against a ticking clock and our time may be running out.”

I opened my mouth, to tell him that we didn’t need to worry about that, that we would make it out on the other side, but he shook his head before I could speak, both of us knowing I couldn’t say those words and mean them.

“Neither of us can promise that we’ll be here forever. But I can promise you that for however many days we have left, I will love you for all of them. I can promise that I never knew true happiness until I held you in my arms. I can promise you that out of every good thing in my world, your friendship is the thing I cherish the most. I am so madly in love with you Halls and I can’t handle knowing that I may never get the chance to tell you.”

My heart stopped beating in my chest, and when it started back up again, it pulsed with the love I had for the blue-eyed man staring down at me like I was the best thing he’d ever seen. Sealing my mouth with his, I dropped my mental shield, allowing Eli to feel everything flowing through me. For him to feel the overwhelming love that flowed through me when I was in his arms.

Breaking away, I uttered the words to him, letting him feel the truth in each syllable. “I’m madly in love with you and I’m thankful every day that you brought light back into my life.”

Eli’s smile spread across his face, the same smile that showed me around on my first day, and I knew that I had begun to fall for him then. And without that moment, we wouldn’t be here, my smile matching his own.

“Let’s try to get some sleep, yeah?” Eli asked, his hand outstretched to mine, and I gladly took it. Knowing that in his arms, I’d find some peace tonight.
