Silence fills the room, each man alone with his thoughts about what tomorrow means and the pressure of success.

“I hate to interrupt but may I say something?” It’s Caroline. We all perk up and turn to the door where our angel is standing. She’s dressed in red silk that clings to her full breasts and dips in between her legs.

Fuck. There’s nothing between me and her but some air and that one thin layer of silk. Marshall next to me lets out a low growl.

She looks at each of us in turn. “I was a virgin when I was brought here, not really because I wanted to be but because it was expected of me. I was scared—I think again because it was expected. I knew from the moment I met each of you that you would never hurt me. Yes, even you, Ares.”

I want to look away but I can’t let any of the other men have a moment longer looking at her than me.

“I was alone when I came here. That was never expected of me; that was just a fact. I left a cold mausoleum, sold by my own father, and I found Sin, Inc. Where I also found some delicious sinners. Wherever I was before, whatever life I had before is a dim unpleasant memory. This place is my home, you are my home.” She takes her time to let her gaze linger on each of us as she speaks.

“Kaden, you make me carnal. I can’t even look at you without wanting to touch myself.” She puts words to action and runs her hands across her pussy and tits through the silk. Fuck, how I wish I was her hands.

“Justin, you taste so good.” We all laugh because Justin does more tasting than being tasted. “Before I met you I never knew how good life tastes.”

Her fingers that were rubbing her clit through the fabric slide into her mouth without breaking eye contact with him.

“Arsen, you’ve given me a sense of my own value. In your eyes I’m worth more than any dollar figure. No one has ever looked at me like that.” On the word figure, her hands trace her own perfect, fuckable figure.

“Samuel, you’ve taught me to relax and enjoy. I was running around trying to please everyone before. Well, not anymore.”

It’s getting harder and harder to wait my turn,. What if she has nothing to say to me? I did shoot a woman in front of her.

“Marshall, my protector. The first man to think I was worth protecting.” I will protect you, I want to say, but I stay silent. So not a good idea to jump in on Marshall’s time.

Finally—fucking finally—it’s my turn.

She meets my eyes as she speaks. “Ares, I was most afraid of you at first. You shot Mary. You killed the girl my father put before me and before my mother. I was afraid of you because I had been jealous of Mary, and then you stepped in and she was gone. Thank you.”

I want her now, I want to take her here in front of my brothers. I want them to watch. I was the one who freed her first.

I’m barely listening as she directs her attention to Apollo.

“Apollo, you’re the glue that hold this band of brothers together. You try to be everything we need, and you are.”

She pauses and glances around the room. “I could never love one of you. Because I love all of you. You’re my devious, devilish sinners who delivered me from my ivory tower into the depths of debauchery.” At this, she gives us a wicked grin. “Whatever happens tomorrow, thank you for dragging me down with you.”

We’re all talking at once, telling her we love her and promising her the moon and the stars. We press forward as a group, but she puts out a hand, subtle but enough to stop us in our tracks. We’re standing in a semicircle around her, her hand extended, holding us at bay.

“We will always rescue you, Caroline.” Apollo speaks for all of us. “You’re the best and brightest thing that’s ever come into our lives. We would and will do anything for you.”

“And to you,” adds Kaden with a wink. I glower at him. This is not the time for his horny shit.

Caroline smiles—she gives him way too much slack—but that’s one of the many wonderful things about her. She loves us all for our sins as much as for our good qualities.

“I know you would, and to thank you more appropriately and prepare you for tomorrow’s big day, I have a little surprise for you in the waiting area. Wait ten seconds then follow me out.”

She turns and walks away. I don’t count the seconds because I’m enthralled watching her ass as she walks out the conference room door.
