Making my decision, I took the steps leading off the balcony and began trying to make my way around to the front of the big mansion. It seemed like every room was lit up inside and enough light spilled out onto the grass to make it easy to find my way. In fact, there was a walkway leading around the house. As I traveled along it, I noticed that many of the rooms on the third floor of the huge house had balconies too, and people were standing out on a few of them, laughing and talking. Everyone seemed to be partying, or at least most of them did. Everyone was happy—except for me.

I made it to the driveway, dug out my phone and ordered a Loxi, a ride sharing service that had originated in Valleywood. It was while I stood there waiting for it to arrive that I realized I still had on Dominic’s coat—and my own coat was still inside. I didn’t have so many clothes that I could leave it, so I waited until my car drove up, then leaned in to explain to the driver and ask him to wait. I ran back inside to get my coat, leaving Dominic’s in the process. I could text him and tell him where to find it. After all, I didn’t want to be accused of stealing such an expensive item.

Okay, maybe I was being petty—I really didn’t think Dominic would do such a thing, but I was hurt and angry.

After leaving his coat, I came out to my Loxi and found Dominic and Kyle waiting by the car. Dominic stepped close to block me when I tried to get in.

“Jax, please. Just let me take you home, if you really want to go.”

“I really do. But I’ve called the Loxi now.”

“I’ll pay him for his time. Come with me, Jax. I’m so sorry this so-called interview of mine got out of hand.”

“It’s okay. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

He laid his hand on mine and leaned in close. “Please, Jax. I’ll feel terrible if you don’t let me take you home at least.”

I could feel myself wavering. “I’d have to take care of the driver.”

“I’ll do it.”

“No,” I said in a firm tone. “I called him, and I’ll pay him.” I dug out my phone and pulled up the app to cancel the trip. Then I also pulled out my wallet and leaned in to apologize and hand him a twenty-dollar bill on top of the one I left on the app.

It wasn’t that I had plenty of money to throw around on tips, but it was the principle of the thing.

I came back around the car and saw Dominic waiting with his hand held out to mine.

“I’m okay,” I said stiffly.

“I know. I just like holding your hand if it’s all right.”

I smiled at him—I really couldn’t help it, and that was alarming too. Dominic really had no idea how charming he could be. Or did he?

Kyle pulled up with Dominic’s car and we got in.

“I think I’d like to just go home, if it’s all right,” I said.

“Of course, but it’s still early. What if I stayed with you for a while? I promised you dinner. Maybe we could order a pizza? And watch a movie. Just to relax.” He smiled hopefully and I could feel myself caving.

“I think…” I said, hesitating. He looked as if he were braced for my refusal, but his eyes lit up and he gave me a beautiful smile when I gave in. “I think I’d like that.”

In the end, he stayed, and we watchedThe Devil Wears Prada, an old favorite of mine with Meryl Streep. He didn’t pay much attention. He’d kicked off his shoes, though and surprised me by eating a few pieces of the pizza Kyle went to pick up for us. Kyle said he’d swing by the party and get Dominic’s suit jacket too. At my urging, Dominic even shed his tie.

He settled on the sofa beside me and made himself comfortable.

I was happy there in the tiny house, enjoying the claustrophobically small, darkened living room that nevertheless managed to be cozy and smelled like cotton candy. Maybe it had something to do with Jax snuggled up beside me.

I’d had big plans for the evening, but this was kind of nice. After a while, Jax fell asleep with his head on my shoulder, and I put my own head back and drifted off myself. When I awoke, what seemed like hours later, I was partially stretched out on the couch with Jax draped across my lap, snoring gently. I looked at my watch and saw that it was almost two in the morning.

Poor Kyle. I knew he wouldn’t leave until I was in the car, so I began to ease my way out from under Jax to make my way to the car. My plan was to cover Jax with a blanket and get back to the hotel, but when I twisted around, he did too, and suddenly his face was snuggling into my groin.

“Mmm,” he groaned, his eyes tightly closed as he nestled his face against my cock. I was in agony as I felt myself growing impossibly hard. I groaned too and lay as still as I possibly could for at least five minutes, suffering the tortures of the damned as he rubbed and nuzzled his nose against me. Just when I thought I’d go mad, he raised his head, smiled at me and gave me a wicked little wink.

“You little shit,” I muttered and pulled him up so that he sprawled on top of me. “You’ll pay for that,” I teased, pretending to growl, and he smiled again.
