“Again?” I croak out.

“Ask me for it,” he growls. “Ask me to give you another orgasm.”

“Please, Atlas, please!”

The tide washes over me, sweeps me up, tosses me around. My inner muscles flutter and pulse, my whole body begging to be fucked and bred.

I slump into the seat underneath me, endorphins rushing through me. Atlas doesn’t seem to have come; he doesn’t make any indication that he’s made a mess, as much as I want to see it. Fuck, I would take whatever he can give me…on my breasts, in my mouth…

Jesus, Penn. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Atlas gets comfortable again, resuming his breakfast like he didn’t just blow my mind. I’m a little slower to get back to normal, my breath evening out only after a couple minutes—but now, I’m starving, and I start wolfing down the rest of my food.

“Keon told me he invited you to his show tonight,” Atlas says suddenly. “I wanted to tell you that you’re welcome to go, if you would like.”

I cock my eyebrow. “You don’t want to come with me?”

He chuckles at the double entendre, licking his lips. “I don’t leave the compound when I’m in Solis,” he says.

“Why?”

His brow furrows. “A conversation for another day,” he says. “You, however, are not a prisoner here. You’re welcome to roam the city, as long as you’re under guard.” He looks over my shoulder and tilts his head, and I turn to find he’s indicated Corvus. “Shayd will be your personal bodyguard.”

Wow. How convenient.

“And how will I get there?” I ask.

“Keon will send a transport for you,” he replies. “The rest of the afternoon belongs to you; I have business to attend to, but I’m sure you’ll find more than enough to occupy your time in your personal rooms. There’s an entrance to the garden in the back wall here.”

“Oh,” I say. “Uh…thank you.”

He stands up, and four of the guards mobilize around him in almost robotic formation. “I’ll see you tonight,” he says.

“Um…tonight?”

“After the show,” he says. He pauses at my right as he walks out. “I did promise you I’d show you later, didn’t I?”

I make a sound low in my throat, and his eyes twinkle at how he’s made me lose control. And he’s right to feel that way; I’m already losing my composure around a man I’m supposed to target and take advantage of.

“Great,” I croak.

And it’s the last thing I say to him before he heads back through the door.

I finish my breakfast in silence, staring out at the garden on the other side of the window. I can see some other skyscrapers on the horizon, but I guess we’re higher up than I believed, because the sky is clear. It’s almost as if the city doesn’t exist in this isolated spot.

Who was he talking about when he discussed other human females?

I know the bride in Tauro is First Wave, but it isn’t Layla. She left before Layla went missing, according to the intelligence I’ve gathered. But the Diavolos are supposed to be our allies; they don’t take brides like the other families do, and they only have benevolent intentions…right?

It seems I have more web to untangle.
