“Jesus,” I say, laughing again. “Are you turning yourself on talking about this?”

“I’ve had two glasses of wine and your boyfriends are all hot as fuck,” she says. “I don’t remember the last time I was touched. Cut me a break.”

I laugh. “Don’t you have a sneaky link?”

“He found a girlfriend,” she says, mock gagging. “They’re serious.”

“Disgusting,” I reply, then meet her gaze. “Hey, B?”

“What?”

“Thank you for everything,” I say. “For helping me when I needed it, for helping me tell the girls about the move, for having my back even when things were wild as fuck. I love you.”

“I love you too, Trine,” she says. “You take care of yourself, okay? And tell Dee Dee I’ll miss him.”

“You already told him. So many times.”

“I know, but it might be better coming from you.”

“Babe, he’s a cat.”

“Exactly,” Bryony says. “That’s my point.”

I laugh. “Okay,” I say. “I think that’s it. I’m done.”

She nods. She walks me to the door and we hug each other again as I open it. I know the guys are waiting for me outside, standing by the door on the balcony. I told them I needed some time alone with Bryony so they haven’t come in, but they’ll help me move down the boxes when the movers are here.

From behind the closed door, I can hear them laughing, bantering with each other. It’s a little surreal. I pull the door open and they fall quiet at the same time.

“Are you ready?” Misha asks.

I swallow, looking back at Bryony as she leans against the threshold of the door. “Go,” she says. “We need to find a better bassist, anyway.”

I laugh. Rei slings an arm around my shoulder, leaning down to speak quietly into my ear. “Are you sure about this, babe? You can still change your mind.”

“I’m sure,” I tell him. “Where you guys go, I go.”

“Good,” Luke says. He’s wearing a priest collar, but mostly looks completely normal. I don’t need to talk to him to know what’s going to happen to us. He’s going to keep being a priest. We’re going to keep sleeping together. If I wanted something else, I wouldn’t be sleeping with all of them. “Because I need to water my plants. I’m sure they’re mostly dead.”

I laugh.

“And my congregation probably misses me,” he says. “Who knows?”

I laugh again.

“I’ve never been to Boston,” Malon says. “Honestly, I’ve never even…been on a plane. So that’s the part I’m most excited for. “

We all laugh that time. Crazy to think that for all the experience Malon has, he’s never been on a plane. I guess he really hasn’t been human for very long.

“Okay,” Misha says. “If that’s all, then all you have to do is lead the way, Trine.”

He smiles at me, and I smile back at him, my heart fluttering in my chest.

I know not everything is fixed. But I also know that, no matter what happens, they’re going to be by my side.

And I don’t think I’ve ever been happier.

THE END
