He moves to open the box, but before he can, I rest my hand over his. “Wait.”
“What?” he frowns.
“I can’t wait to see which ring you picked out for me, but no matter how amazing it is, that ring is not a symbol of our love, Kirill.” I arch into his warmth and wrap my arms around his neck. “You and me. Kirill slowly slides the ring box back into his pocket and then glides his huge, warm hands under the hem of my shirt to settle over my skin. The air between us prickles with energy. I have a feeling I won’t be seeing that ring for another hour at least.
“I love you, Rayne,” he whispers, kissing my jawline.
I hook a leg over his hip and whisper back, “Prove it.”
