Page 69 of Take Me, Daddy

My eyes watered and I blinked back tears, trying not to let the whole thing get to me. I kept telling myself he cared enough to walk me home at least.

When I turned the corner and Murphy’s Pub came into my sight, my heart leapt into my throat. I looked up at the second floor, trying to see if maybe there were lights on that would tell me he was inside, but I couldn’t see anything because the curtains were closed. With a sigh, I hefted my basket of cleaning supplies a bit higher on my shoulder and went to the side alley where his entrance was.

I walked up the stairs and sighed again, stopping to see a note on the door just as I was reaching to push the key into the lock and open it.

Leah,

I wanted to let you know that I’ve moved, and I would really like for you to come check out my new place. It’s not far. The address is 301 Shawmut Avenue. I can’t wait to show it to you.

Kieran

I looked at the handwritten note for several seconds, noting that he had signed it with his name and not Daddy. After pouting about that for the briefest of seconds, I focused on the last sentence. Did that mean I’d be able to see him for a bit longer than just the walks home? My heartbeat sped up and I turned around, quickly descending the stairs.

Shawmut Avenue was a quick walk away from here, at least according to my phone. It took about fifteen minutes to reach the small historical neighborhood. Many of the row houses were made of all brick, a token of historical Boston from way back in the late 1800s. Even the sidewalks were lined with brick. There were several mature trees, which added a green touch to the neighborhood that made it feel even more like home.

I walked down the street until I found the address he’d indicated and stared at the front of the building. It was one building of three attached townhouses and his was the one on the end. There was a beautiful red cherry wood door at the entrance. I just kind of stood there for a second. The rust-colored brick was pristine, a clear indicator that this particular building had been restored and painstakingly cared for to preserve its historical exterior.

It was five stories tall with windows at every level decorated with flower boxes and mature green vinery that added tons of character. The top levels were covered with blackish gray roofing tiles, which seemed sort of like an elegant top hat to me. The idea of that made me giggle.

I knew from just standing outside that this row house had cost him a small fortune. It was in stark contrast to his apartment, which was decorated beautifully but was definitely geared for the life of a bachelor.

I took a deep breath and climbed the stairs of the stoop. Did I just walk in? Should I ring the doorbell? Knock on the door? My heart pounded while I tried to figure out what to do and the door opened before I could make up my mind.

Kieran was standing there in a simple pressed pair of dark gray slacks and a navy-blue cotton button-up shirt. The color only served to bring out the blue in his eyes.

“Leah, I’m so glad to see you,” he began. His smile was adoringly warm and for the moment, all my worries bled away. His expression danced with contagious excitement, and I couldn’t help but smile in return.

“I’m really happy to see you too,” I confessed.

“Come in. I can’t wait to show you this place,” he exclaimed. He reached out for my hand, and I took it. As soon as he pulled me through the door, he grasped my cleaning supplies and put them aside in the entryway.

“It’s beautiful,” I murmured.

There was a grand wooden staircase to the right, and an open sitting room to the left with plush cream-colored cloth couches and tons of blue and gray pillows to set them off. The big brick stone fireplace took my breath away, already complete with a roaring fire.

“This room is one of my favorites. The past few nights, I’ve sat by the fire and read a book while waiting for the pub to close so I could come walk you home,” he said, and he pulled me in close to him.

The proximity of his strong muscular form against mine was enough to set my skin on fire. My clit throbbed hard, almost as if it was reminding me that he hadn’t fucked me in a week. I didn’t say anything, but I had a feeling that my cheeks turned pink anyway.

He showed me the kitchen next, which was on the first floor. There was a dining table there too, making it a cozy family eating area complete with a padded built-in bench and several chairs. It wasn’t too big or too small, but just right.

It seemed like a lot for one man though.

We climbed the stairs to the second level, where there was a game room and a wet bar designed to entertain a fair amount of company. Then we went up to the third floor, which had a bedroom designed for a little girl and a children’s playroom complete with enough dolls and toys to keep a kid busy for hours. I looked back at him slightly confused. He had no need for this.

“Do you have a niece or nephew that will come over to play?” I finally asked, too perplexed to leave it unsaid.

“I have several, in fact. I have a pretty large family, but I didn’t decorate this place with them in mind,” he answered, leveling his gaze with mine.

“Who did you decorate it for then?” I questioned.

He’d never mentioned having a girlfriend or anyone else before this. I tried to comb through everything he’d said, thinking maybe I’d missed something. My mind raced and then everything went quiet the moment his fingers lifted my chin.

“I did it for Emma,” he replied.

I didn’t know what to say at that point.

“She’ll love it,” I said awkwardly, not knowing what else to say.
