The room is now more chaotic and broken than before. My power running free and rampant, adding to the destruction.A powerful tornado blows through the center of the room, swirling directly over the shadowy figures, the ground cracked and splintered below them.

Their attention is now fully on me. I raise my arm as static flows in large wisps down to my hands, circling my gleaming runes.

The cloaked figures call their black smoke to them, receding the coils around Mirin to push their full force toward me.It reaches forward, slithering and stretching nearer. The black billowing entity promising pain and ceaseless agony.

But it's too late.

I push my power toward them, willing it to tear them apart. Every inch of their cloaked figures to be crushed with the power, right down to their shadowy dark souls.

I want them to be more broken and ruined than the way they’ve left my home.I want them nothing but fluttering ash and cinders, just specks of dust I can brush off my cracked walls.

I pull and drag more magic to me, draining every drop from the Library and my body, forcing more power into my runes.I raise my palms to the billowing smoke and masters behind it.

The power pours from me, a bright light, almost a translucent blue in color. It rushes toward them in one single blast, the light hitting them instantly, with no time for them to move or protect themselves. It disintegrates everything in its path. Even the entrance behind them is blown from existence. Nothing left but dust.

With now no trace left of them, their smoke and coils dissipate around the room, fading completely with them gone. Only scattered corpses of dead shifters and beasts left, and the wreckage that was my Library from the battle.

I look to the corner, Mirin beside a now conscious Callyn and being held by an exhausted Derric. They all stare at me with widened eyes and gaping mouths.

“What othertalentsare you hiding, my sweetlittle doe?” A velvety voice pulls me from my thoughts. An amused smirk spreads across Lucien's face as he reaches me.

A rustling from behind me has us both turning. Cole and Jace make their way toward us.

Jace, now in human form, adjusts his trousers. His firm abs are on full display as he saunters over to us. A small smirk tilts his lips as he brushes his hand up his bare chest, a knowing glint in his eyes as he meets my own.

“Damn, babe. I knew you were a badass, but shit…that was hot.” Jace wriggles his brows as he reaches for me.

Cole swats his hands away before they can catch me.

“Did you forget, wolf?” Cole looks toward Jace, his brow raised, a smug grin spreading across his lips.

“I won.”

“Oh,hellno!” shouts Jace.

“That last one didn’t count. The blast from Rhys basically did him in!” he argues. Cole sighs as he shakes his head.

“Only thefinalblow counts!” Jace smirks. “Andtechnically…Rhys won.”

He turns to me, a mischievous twinkle in his amber eyes.

“She got the big bad three, and they were worth at least, what…a hundred each?” He smiles, pulling me to him. I lean back into him, enjoying the warmth of his touch. I look around, relieved that everyone is okay.

“She gets to choosewhatevershe wants,” he declares, pulling me from my thoughts, my brows pinching together with his words. Cole gives a small nod.

Was that their little bet? Winner gets whatever they want?

“I’ll play along too,” Lucien drawls, looking at me, his dark eyes trailing down my front as he continues. “What do you desire, little doe?”

Jace growls behind me. “Onlymatesallowed.” He wraps his arms around my front, a smug grin on his lips.

Lucien’s eyes turn to Jace before returning to me. “I thought so.”His eyes turn wicked as he smiles at Jace.“But she can have more than justonemate.”

My brows furrow as I turn to Jace, feeling his nod on my back. “And you would be okay with that?” I mean, he’s been protective and a bit possessive since we confirmed we were mates. It didn’t seem like he wanted toshare.

A soft smile grows on Jace’s lips. “As long as they’re your mate,Mate.”He kisses my forehead before walking closer to Lucien.

Lucien pauses before pointing a finger toward Cole, his brows scrunching together. “And why is he allowed, but I’m not?”
