“What are you thinking?” He kisses my temple.

“About us. About what’s… next?” I shrug, angling my head, finding his warm eyes staring at me. A smile spreads across his face.

He brings his lips down to meet mine, taking over with a tender, sweet kiss filled with love and maybe promises.

“Next?” I nod.

“Our future,” he whispers. “I have a few surprises ready for you. Stick around for an eternity, Butterfly. We’re going to have fun.” He delivers that signature cocky grin with his mischievous wink. And I know I’m home.

ChapterSixty

Thea

My entire bodyis jittery as I notice we’re driving to the new house.Ournew house. The house we designed thinking about our future, back when we believed that we’d be three.

Are we three again?

I’m together with them, but neither of us has talked about more or about us as a whole.

“Did your men deliver, or what?” Matt asks as he parks the car in front of our place. He kisses my hand.

“My men?” I ask, and that’s when I notice Coop’s car in the driveway, and I spot him walking toward us with a big smile.

“The house is ready!” I scream, rushing toward the porch, admiring the greenery and wondering if next spring we’ll be able to raid the nursery and plant flowers everywhere.

“Hey,” Coop tilts his head before opening his arms.

I jump and he twirls me around. “You’re here.”

“Didn’t I say see you soon in the text?” He sets me back on the ground and kisses me deeply before doing the same with Matt. “You’re late, babe.”

Matt shrugs.

“This place is beautiful,” I say.

“I hired a landscaper that’s waiting for you to tell him what kind of flowers you want.” Matt comes from behind me and takes me by the waist. “He’ll have them ready for you next year.”

“How did you know…?”

“That you’re thinking about flowers?” He kisses my earlobe, shooting electricity from there to my entire body. Damn, he has to know this isn’t the right time to make me needy for him. “I want to believe that I know my woman. Mostly, you love flowers, baby.”

Tristan clears his throat.

“Fine.” Matt releases me. “It was his idea.”

Before I go inside or we start making plans, I disentangle from their sturdy limbs.

“I know we’ve talked separately, but I think this is the part of the story where we discuss us, isn’t it?”

They both nod.

“It’s simple,” Matt says.

Tristan shakes his head. “No, it’s not. It’s going to be complicated and scary at times. We’re going to have to deal with more than a regular couple does, but if anything, I think we’ve learned from our mistakes. Our love has surpassed a big test, but the real one is coming soon. Life.

“I’ve changed, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be brooding. You’ll have to remind me that work isn’t as important as our family. We’ll have to deal with Matt’s fame too. He’s a rising star, a producer. His movies will be legendary.” He smiles at me. “You’re easy, but I hope I know how to care for you the way you deserve, Thea.”

Matt takes him into his arms and kisses him. “I’m fucking proud of you, Coop. I love you and I’m glad we were able to find each other again.”
