Not on my phone…

But there…nearby.

I panicked and ducked under the water, moving quickly to the pool’s edge.

I surfaced slowly, resting my hand on the edge and running the other over my face, getting the water out of my eyes.

Please be a figment of my imagination.

So not my luck.

I pressed myself firmly against the wall of the pool and took a moment to calm my racing heart before I risked glancing up. There he was, crouched down a few feet away, a look of amusement—and something else I didn’t quite recognize—on his gorgeous face.

“Go. Away.”

“Don’t you know it’s not safe to swim alone.” He stood up and began to strip off his T-shirt.

The fabric lifted up, revealing his six-pack and that blasted tattoo almost as if in slow motion…and then he lifted the shirt totally up and off, over his head, and his gaze met mine.

A thousand sparks reverberated through my body.

And I knew I was in trouble—deep, deep trouble.

If I’d let go of the edge at that moment, I probably would have sunk straight to the bottom.

He lived up to the moniker sexiest rocker… I didn’t think I’d seen someone so undeniably sexy that up close and personal in my entire life.

Oh, this was bad… Very, very bad.

Of everyone in my family, it was known I was the one with the flimsiest willpower.

“It won’t be safe for you to join me.” Not sure who I was trying to warn with those words. Maybe the both of us?

He laughed and took a seat on the edge.

“Okay, if you don’t want me to join you, I won’t. I’ll just be on standby in case you need saving.” He leaned back on his elbows and motioned with a jut of his chin. “Go back to whatever you were doing. If it’s laps, I can count for you if you want.”

“Well, now that’s just creepy. Come on. Strip down. I won’t even look.”

“Dang, you know how to kill an ego.”

I shrugged, fighting back a smile, and turned, swimming away.

The splash came a few moments later.

I turned and found him a few feet away, wiping the hair out of his eyes.

“Hey…”

His voice sounded different. A hint lower…a little raspy. A little more like his stage voice.

“Hey…” I repeated, fighting back a smile. Here I was, stranded and skinny-dipping with one of the hottest rock stars in the world while the blizzard raged outside. I maintained a safe distance between us, doing my best to keep my focus on his eyes.

Which may have been the biggest mistake yet.

His were the type of eyes I could get lost in.

Desperately lost in.
