“Merry Christmas…” I drawled, kissing my way up her neck.

She rolled over slowly, pressing into my side. I was more than ready for round three…and possibly round four in the near future. There was something about her I was quickly becoming addicted to, and from the way she’d responded to my kiss, my touch, my body last night, I was sure the feeling was mutual.

She yawned and looked up with smiling, sleepy eyes. “’Morning…Merry Christmas.”

She pressed her lips to my cheek, her hand on my chest. I was about to reach out and pull her on top of me when she sat up, taking the sheet with her as she turned to get out of bed.

The last remnants of sleep quickly faded with every movement she made. “Where…what are you doing?”

The next thing I knew, she was standing up, wrapping the towel around herself, the beautiful body I’d just been getting acquainted with getting further and further out of my reach.

“Need to get up…make some plans, see how bad the roads are. Maybe through some miracle, I can find a way home and make it in time for the proposal.”

I combed my fingers through my hair. She was determined, I’d give her that. Not many women would willingly roll out of bed with a rock star.

“Okay, let me see what I can do.” I sat up and hooked my arms around my knees. Maybe with that out of the way, we could get back to bed and really enjoy our Christmas day.

“Can you plow the roads from here to Kenton?” She smiled, her kissable lips drawing my attention. “Oh, wait, maybe you could.”

“Jenna…”

“I’ll start coffee. It’s late, we slept in.” She yawned and ran a hand through her bedhead hair. “Definitely need coffee to start the day.”

I sighed. The woman had a one-track mind—I just wished ours ran on the same track.

I stayed in bed, the warmth of the sheets surrounding me, the smell of her on the pillow, on my skin.

My gaze landed on the phone on the charger. I pressed my lips together. I knew people…who knew people…who could get me the info I wanted.

I slipped out of bed, grabbed the phone and a pair of lounge pants that I slid on, and sat back down. I couldn’t hear Jenna—she’d probably headed to the shower in her own room after starting coffee.

I sighed. I should have offered her a shower in my room. After all, it had the biggest walk-in shower I’d seen in my life. It could fit two comfortably…and a lot more.

I opened my contacts list, scanning the names. Who could I bug on Christmas who would, well, jump…

Frank.

Frank needed payback.

And that’s exactly where I started. “Frank, my man…I need you to do something for me asap.”

Forty minutes later, I had the name and number I wanted. I’d called in a few favors, made a few promises, and made Frank burn his first skillet of Christmas morning pancakes, but it was worth it.

Thanks to my little peek in Jenna’s wallet, I had her last name.

I had Noah’s contact info.

I checked the time and sent a quick text, introducing myself, saying I was the one stranded with his sister and I needed his help, call me when he could.

Two minutes later, the phone rang. Five minutes after that, plans had been put in place. All was good. It would be a very Merry Christmas, after all.

I pulled a raggedy, comfy red T-shirt out of my suitcase and threw it on. I brushed my fingers through my hair, decided I looked decent, and headed downstairs. I could smell food already cooking, and something else, when I hit the stairs. I peeked towards the kitchen, seeing her busy, a bunch of pots and pans out, her busy with the stand mixer, her earbuds in.

I kissed her cheek and wrapped my arms around her as she stood at the counter in her pajama bottoms and the gray tank top, her red bra straps peeking out. “You look busy.”

She pulled the earbud out of her right ear. “I figured we might as well eat well.”

“Smells amazing.”
