Pleading eyes bore into me. “Thank you for tonight. A normal night, like normal people.”

I wish I could really offer her that. “I’ve told you before, Ekaterina. I’m not normal, and neither are our lives. But for you, tonight I will try.” I was even going to let the asshole who was staring at her right in front of me live.

“On that note,” she said while grabbing something out of her purse, “I have a belated birthday gift for you.”

I stared at the black box she handed me. Something stuck in my throat, and a warm sensation washed over me.

“It’s…” Like a simpleton, it took some effort to form words into a sentence. Steeling myself, I opened her present and stared at the watch. “Thank you, Ekaterina.”

Eyes unsure and clearly nervous, she rambled on. “I got it in black so it would go with every outfit you own. You know, since you wear black all the time. I couldn’t afford a Rolex or a Patek, or any of the other fancy watches Baran recommended. I just hope you’ll like it. I bought it before…well, before we got intimate.” She flushed again. “I was not-so-subtly hoping to remind you that time is ticking by, so you’d prioritize what’s important and live your life to the fullest.”

I was undone.

She arched a brow. “And when I mean ‘live your life to the fullest’, I mean live it with me.”

“Naturally.”

I leaned over the table and stole a long, lingering kiss from her lips. She beamed and helped me replace my watch with the one she’d given me.

Even though my Audemars Piguet wasn’t nearly as valuable as her gift, I placed it on her wrist. “To remind you that every moment of every dayyouare my priority.”

Just as the last course arrived, the fucker eying Katya left for the men’s room.

I excused myself to ‘powder my nose,’ eliciting a chuckle from Katya. I got up and left her to enjoy her veal in anchovy butter.

Ironically, it was the obnoxious asshole who had powder up his nose. He wiped away the white substance from his nose, not even hiding the remains still clinging to his fingers while he talked on his phone.

“I’m taking her home with me tonight for sure.” The asshole laughed, then snorted. “Finally going to pop Evie’s cherry.”

I should have rejoiced at the way he spoke of her. Yet somehow I found my arms around the cokehead’s neck. I took him into a chokehold and dunked his head into the basin. His head snapped back and his eyes bulged out before he dropped to the floor.

I washed my hands, then got out my phone and texted Yuri.Evie Ryan. Make sure she gets home safely.Who knows? Maybe I’d be able to use her in the near future.

I was back to the table in no time, enjoying the rest of the seemingly endless meal.

Finally the dessert arrived, a delicious-looking Crème Brûlée. It was nothing compared to what I was going to feast on later, though.

“Katya.”

She looked up, just as she put her spoon into her dish.

“Your other hand, put it in your panties. Now.”

Eyes big, she shook her head.

I would not be denied. “The longer you wait, the worse it will get back in the car.”

For a second, I truly believed she would obey me. I couldn’t have been more wrong. She dipped a finger into her dessert, her eyes focused on me. Then she brought the tip to her mouth and sucked on it. Her sultry look set my pants on fire.

“Worse for me, or for you?” she asked, turning the tables on me.

I didn’t know why, but the celestial powers who ruled the universe had matched me with the perfect woman.

***

KATYA

My panties had melted by the time I put my spoon down. I didn’t know what had come over me when Kristoff had told me what he’d wanted. Every fiber of my being had wanted to obey his every command when it came to sex. Yet the little she-devil inside of me wanted to play.
