“I have always admired you, Sitara. You are the most beautiful, intelligent and spirited woman I’ve known. But… in my mind… you are still Aarav’s girlfriend.”

She had been shocked and embarrassed by his words.

“You are my husband, Dheeraj. Aarav and I are no longer together.”

“I know that. But I’m sorry. I feel as though I’m betraying my best friend by touching you.”

She didn’t say anything because she had felt the same. Even though she was legally married to Dheeraj, she felt as though she was cheating on Aarav with his best friend.

“Let’s be friends like before,” Dheeraj gently suggested.

Dheeraj and she lived together in the same house, but only like good friends. They continued to have separate rooms, but became an ideal couple in the scientific community. They did research together, ran a successful company and had the same passion to serve humanity through science.

Dheeraj was an ideal husband in every way. She somehow didn’t care that there was no intimacy of a physical relationship in their marriage. She didn’t even mind when he told her about having his physical needs met occasionally with other women. She was happy for him and told him he wasn’t obligated to her in any way. But she couldn’t do the same. She couldn’t find another man to satisfy her physical needs. No one appealed to her.

Until now.

She felt angry that the jerk who broke her heart was the only man who made her crave the raw passion of a physical relationship.

What do I do to stop this madness?

She was no longer a teenager to be driven by wild hormones, but Aarav was driving her crazy.

Suddenly his words from the night before crept into her mind.

“I’m glad I could help,” he drawled. “Let me know when you have such… needs again.”

Aarav had said those words when she claimed her passionate response to their previous night’s fake kiss was because she had missed the physical intimacy of her marriage with Dheeraj.

She knew he was being angrily sarcastic. But now, she wondered if she should take him up on that offer.

The idea shocked her.

But it somehow didn’t feel wrong.

They say the only way to satisfy a craving was to binge on it until it was no longer appealing.

If she binged on Aarav, she would no longer feel the constant awareness and need for him.

I’m going to sleep with Aarav Rathod.

Even the mere thought of it caused her to shiver violently.

She rubbed her arms, willing the goosebumps to disappear while she drew courage for asking the man, she once madly loved to have a wild affair with her.

What if he refuses?

That thought hadn’t struck her until then. Yes, they always had a passionate relationship, but she was no longer that young. Seven years had passed since they last made love. And it had been love and not just sex like she had claimed a while ago.

Love forgave imperfections but sex was based purely on animal attraction.

She was wildly attracted to him, but was he attracted to her as well?

Strangely she felt off balance not knowing the answer. Right from their first meet through the years of them being together, she had never been uncertain about Aarav’s attraction towards her. But now she was.

She had sensed his heated stares in the past two days and he had even kissed her the previous night like he used to.

But is that enough?
