“Oh hi, Sitara,” a familiar voice greeted.

Sitara turned to see that it was Roopa Motiani.

“Hello, Roopa,” she greeted back politely.

Roopa’s eyes fell on Sitara’s neck. Sitara tried not to blush because she knew Roopa must be looking at the spot where Aarav had bit her on the neck that morning. She had covered the spot using makeup, but it didn’t get completely covered. It looked like a love bite but it could also be passed off as an insect bite. She hoped people thought it was the latter.

“Are you excited to go to the island?” the other woman asked brightly.

“Yes, I’m looking forward to it.”

The woman threw an adoring look at her husband who was talking to a cocktail waitress. “Sohel is very adventurous. He plans to do parasailing and bungee jumping. But I’m not so brave like him. So, I’m going to stick to watching him, shopping and getting a massage. We will be having lunch atLa Serata.Sohel said it’s the top-rated five-star restaurant on the island.”

Sitara nodded with a small smile.

“Why don’t you join us?” the woman asked. “Your husband and Sohel can do parasailing. We both can shop, get a massage and then the four of us can go for lunch together atLa Serata.”

Before Sitara could reply, Aarav joined them. His heavy arm wrapped around her waist as he stood next to her.

“Sorry, we can’t join you,” he said.

Roopa looked up at him and blinked. “Oh! If you haven’t done any adventurous activities before, Sohel can help you. He has done parasailing many times. He isn’t scared of heights.”

Sitara’s cheeks heated, feeling embarrassed on behalf of the other woman who didn’t know Aarav had been in the Air Force. Aarav was known for his daredevil ways and the dangerous risks he and his team took during wars and various rescue operations.

“Thanks for the offer,” Aarav drawled. “But my wife and I are not taking the island tour.”

“Oh, okay. Then I guess I’ll see you both later when we return from the island.”

The woman gave Sitara a sympathetic smile before joining her husband.

Sitara pulled away from him and glared. “What do you mean we are not going to the island tour? I am looking forward to it.”

She didn’t want to remain in the cabin suite moping and thinking about their confusing morning encounter.

“I didn’t say we aren’t going to the island. I said we aren’t going on the island tour.”

She frowned. “What is the difference?”

His mouth twisted. “You’ll see.”

When the ship docked at the island, their group disembarked and headed towards the area where several air-conditioned buses were waiting to take the cruise passengers to the various tourist attractions.

But Aarav held her hand and led her away from the buses.

“Where are we going?” she asked, trying to catch up with his long strides.

He didn’t answer. Just when she was about to dig her heels in and demand an explanation, he stopped at a shop. She couldn’t see anything. It looked more like a garage.

Aarav greeted a man. “Sanjay sent me here.”

The man at the shop smiled. “Yes, sir. Sanjay called me to let me know as well. Your bike is ready. Please follow me.”

The man led them to the back of the store to a shiny red bike. “This is a custom Harley Davidson. Here are the keys, sir. The fuel tank is full and the helmets are on the bike.”

“Thank you.”
