He shouldn’t have agreed to the deal, knowing what a single taste of her would lead to. But he did because it was like waving a piece of scrumptious meat to a hungry, starving animal that had been denied for too long.

And he had been starving for seven fucking years.

He had taken Tara in every way possible. But each time he spilled deep inside her, once again the burning hunger began to grow. And once again he touched her, stroked her and kissed her before pushing into her wet heat even as she struggled to take him in, trying to match and meet his dark, bottomless hunger.

He knew his need was dark, fueled by jealousy, anger and a need to possess her completely. He wanted to fill her body and her mind with just him. And he wanted to burn away the memories from both their minds of the time they spent apart from each other.

He desperately wished it was only lust like he thought. But it was more. Much more.

“Did you think of me in the past seven years?” she asked.

He had lied to her saying it was occasionally when the opposite was true. He could only stop thinking about her occasionally.

She was always on his damn mind.

When he looked at the sky, he thought of her.

When he flew into risky missions, he thought of her.

When he cheated death many times, he thought of her.

And when his body couldn’t take the built-up hunger he felt for her, he jerked off painfully into an abyss, thinking about her.

She was the ghost who had haunted him every damn moment in the past seven years.

“I married Dheeraj because I knew you’d come after me otherwise. And once again we’d get back together. I didn’t want that to happen. I couldn’t be with you anymore.”

She was right. He would have gone after her and got her back.

Marrying Dheeraj or any damn man wouldn’t have made a difference to him either. He would have dragged her back, either by wooing her sweetly, or carrying her away with her kicking and screaming if needed. But she had not only gotten married, she even ran and hid from him for two years. For two fucking years he couldn’t find her or his best friend because they deliberately left the country to work on a confidential research project.

The two years led him to believe she no longer loved him. It also hurt his ego and pride that he craved a woman who had made it more than obvious she didn’t want him.

But now…

His hand moved up and cupped her breast possessively, making her arch and moan softly even in her sleep.

“No more running,” he vowed.

CHAPTER 16

“Coffee, madam?” Riya asked.

“Uh… yes. Thank you.”

Sitara tried not to blush when Riya had a knowing smile while pouring coffee.

After two continuous days of the meals being left outside the cabin suite, Riya and Sanjay were serving breakfast on the balcony.

Aarav had finally let them in. Facing them after two days was embarrassing, but what was more embarrassing was how the entire cabin suite was left in a disarray.

The jerk hadn’t given her the chance to clear up the mess before allowing housekeeping in. And when Riya and the housekeeping team began clearing, there were blankets and pillows all over the bedroom, living room and even on the balcony. The bathrooms had multiple handprints on the glass shower cubicle and small puddles of water outside on the floor. It had taken housekeeping team two hours to put everything in order.

Oh God.

She had wanted to run and hide when it was quite obvious to anyone with eyes to know what had taken place in the cabin suite.

While she thought she’d die of embarrassment, the jerk looked entirely comfortable and pleased.
