“Kid’s dying, Carmelo.”

Carmelo waved a hand at Ash and Nix. “This is no place for a kid, you’ve got blowjob city going on and it’s not even dark yet, you know how much more kinky shit goes down after dark-”

“Yeah and you’re normally right in the middle of it, Carmelo.”

Carmelo sighed and dipped his head. “I know, I know.”

“Come on, let him spend his last few years happy, Sophie’s up for that, his parents are up for that, he’s moved out of their house, he was too much after it came out he’d been running drugs for the Demonios-”

“If this lifestyle makes him happy, then fine, but come on, how old is he, fifteen?”

“He just turned sixteen.”

“Oh yeah, that makes the difference,” Carmelo said sarcastically.

Colt rolled his eyes.

“Is he in school?”

Colt bit his lip. “Dropped out.”

Carmelo blinked. “Cool,” he replied sarcastically, again.

Colt steered Carmelo away from the ice cream truck and towards the bar. “The limo driver-”

Carmelo sighed. “He said he wasn’t going to press charges, and then he passed away, after catching some bug at the hospital. Phantom is officially off the hook.”

Colt nodded, looking satisfied.

“So give me the details for where I can go get Lyle tomorrow. I’ll bring Ash and Nix, and we’ll fuck him over so bad he’ll wish he hadn't woken up again,” Colt muttered darkly.

Carmelo gulped. He didn’t want to be in Lyle’s shoes tomorrow.“Yep, I’ll text you.”

Colt nodded. “Great.” His eyes caught on someone in the crowd. Carmelo followed his eye line and saw April, bouncing a fussing baby Chase, tipping her blonde hair back, that was curled for the occasion. Colt smiled.

“All okay?” Carmelo asked, nodding to April and baby Chase.

Colt tilted his head and took a while to respond. “It is now… got a night nanny, and April’s seeing the therapist.” He looked back at Carmelo. “Postnatal depression, she’s doing fine, some decent sleep is helping, and the guys have all pitched in, the therapist, too, is doing her good.” Colt shrugged, his eyes full of love for the blonde woman smiling and snuggling with the little baby boy. Carmelo looked on, the strongest couple he knew, that bittersweet pull of almost wanting that threatened again. Carmelo cleared his throat.

Colt clapped him on the back. “Relax, enjoy the party, catch you in a bit,” he said, and walked off toward April.

Carmelo grabbed a bottle of beer from the bar and turned around.

“Shame you aren’t wearing your uniform, pig, I’ve got an after-party planned that would be right up your alley.” He heard Rafe pipe up from around a beer bottle beside him.

Carmelo took a deep, long swig on the beer bottle. When he came up for air, he muttered, “I brought it in the car. Got my handcuffs in my pocket. I hate myself for it… but I can’t resist…”

Rafe threw him a crafty smile. Carmelo let the same conspiratorial smile creep onto his lips.

“You, me, a bunch of strippers, dress rehearsal for a new sex show we are going to put on at The Glasshouse.” Rafe ticked the elements off on his fingers like essential cake recipe ingredients.

Carmelo’s balls throbbed, he had to readjust his now hard cock. “I’ve never… with another guy…”

“We won’t be anywhere near each other, pig, there’ll be a sea full of hot pussy in between us-”

“Shit,” Carmelo said. He was sorely tempted. But he shouldn’t be doing this, he put his uniform in the car on a whim, a moment of sheer madness, on the off chance that maybe…

Carmelo let his head flop forward.
