“Yes,” Vihaan answered.

“Which means we’re screwed,” Shaurya said. “Our cement supplies are dwindling. and importing from outside the Gulf will have a massive hit on our profits. We really do need to buy a cement company and soon. What are we doing to do?”

“The good news is that the Kuwait project is on,” Aaryan countered.

Shaurya splayed a hand out. “Still not sure how that is good news, considering we will go into a major loss if we don’t find a way to replenish our exhausting cement stock soon.”

“I’m looking into an alternative,” Aaryan said. “I’ll tell you when I have a clearer picture of it. Anyway, I’m going to sign the residential project deal in Kuwait tomorrow morning. I’m catching the evening flight out.”

“I just hope you know what you’re doing, Aaryan,” Shaurya said. “We’re signing a huge project despite our cement crisis.”

“Trust me, please,” Aaryan replied.

Aaryan was very reserved and cautious. If he was signing this deal then he definitely had an ace up his sleeve. However, he wouldn’t let them get their hopes up until he wasn’t sure his plan would be a hundred percent successful. Vihaan knew and trusted his brother beyond a doubt.

“Okay, now that business is discussed,” Shaurya’s mischievous gaze landed on Vihaan, “Avi’s updated me on everything concerning Tiya and you.”

“I’m sure she has.” Vihaan made a face. “Gossip never remains with one person in this family.”

Shaurya leveled him with a straight look. “When are you going to admit that you love Tiya?”

Vihaan rolled his eyes. “I’m not talking about her to you.”

“We’re concerned, that’s all,” Aaryan added. “We know you feel strongly about her.”

That day, after Tiya had left, Vihaan had told Aaryan and Avi that he’d confided in Tiya about everything. Aaryan had remained silent, not saying a word. He’d never even questioned him as to why he’d let Tiya in. He’d only warned Vihaan to be careful.

“And we’re happy as long as you’re happy,” Shaurya put forth. “Are you happy?”

“I am,” Vihaan accepted.

But two things hindered his happiness. Two things that weighed on him if he decided to have a future with Tiya.

“I still don’t know what her father’s role was in our past,” he said the first aloud. “Tonight, Jatin Sood has invited me to attend the wedding of his friend’s son. I may just use that as an opportunity to ask him outright.”

“You’ve met him a few times now,” Aaryan said. “What does your gut say?”

Vihaan thought about it. “Jatin Sood doesn’t come across as being vile or vicious. He’s a well-respected businessman, a decent family man and he adores his daughter. I don’t think he was involved in the events of our past. But I have to ask him, nonetheless.”

His brothers murmured their acceptance.

The other reason he was worried about was his bet with Dev Luthra. That time was almost up now. For the first time, he wanted to share this with his brothers and hear what they had to say about it, because leaving Tiya would kill Vihaan, and giving Dev the answers he sought would destroy his family. Vihaan was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and maybe confiding in his brothers could help him get the perspective he was sorely lacking in this ill-advised bet he’d placed with the devil himself.

Before he could utter a word, the door to his office crashed open and Avi stormed inside. Seeing the panic on her face, they all sprang up and rushed to her.

“What happened?” Vihaan asked. “Is Neil—?”

“Neil is fine,” she said.

Her hands shook as she ran them through her hair.

“What is it, Avi?” Aaryan asked, looking as troubled as Vihaan.

“I saw h…him,” she sputtered. “I sawhimand I had Neil with me.”

“Oh God,” Shaurya gasped. “Tell us everything.”

Vihaan handed her a glass of water. She gulped it down and took a few deep breaths.
