Dev watching as his father’s goons killed her parents in cold blood.

Dev holding a gun to her head and threatening her brothers to yield to his father’s men.

Dev watching stoically as his father’s crony sliced her skin from her neck to her right arm till her middle finger.

She shuddered.

Her eldest brother, Aaryan, touched her shoulder, shaking her out of those dreadful memories. Memories she had tried to repress over the years.

She turned to face Aaryan. “I’m fine.”

“You don’t look fine,” Aaryan replied.

Her brother’s expression remained strained; his forehead marred with concern. Dev Luthra had been Aaryan’s best friend at one time. In fact, he’d been her other brother, Vihaan’s, closest friend as well, until Dev had destroyed their lives. For years, they all had hidden from Dev in Dubai. But Dev had found them a few months ago, and since then, he’d been after only one thing…No, after only one person, her.

Twelve years ago, Dev had been young and under the influence of his father, but now he was all man. He knew exactly what he wanted, and what he wanted washer.

A shudder ran down her spine. Dev Luthra was wealthy beyond imagination, powerful like a king, and was known to be cold and ruthless. His business empire, Luthra Inc., spanned multiple fields—marble mines, construction, air-conditioning, timber, real estate, and so much more—all of it built on the backs of her father, Rushabh Rajpoot’s original business portfolio. One which Dev’s father had claimed for himself after murdering her parents brutally.

Her hands fisted.

In all his past meetings with her brothers, Dev had only asked forher. And now he was going to have her to himself for twelve days.

What did Dev want with her? What did he intend to do with her once she was alone with him? The answers to those questions scared her.

But what she really feared was the huge secret she carried with her. One that Dev had no clue about. She dreaded what would happen ifheever learned about that. What if he hurt—

—No. Her heart stumbled. God! No. That could never happen. She’d part with her life if she had to, but Dev would never find out about her secret.

Even thinking about it made her feel faint.

“Avi…” Vihaan, her second brother and Aaryan’s twin, called out. “Are you okay?”

She uncurled her fists and exhaled. “I’m fine.”

There was no choice but to be strong. She was doing this. She was going to face the monster from her past.

“You don’t need to go to him, Avi.” Shaurya, her third brother, insisted. “We are powerful in our own right.”

He was closest in age to her, and although she was attached to all her brothers, Shaurya was the one whom she confided in the most.

Of course, her brothers were powerful. Her family jointly ownedKeyStone Corp.It was an immensely successful property leasing and construction company in Dubai. Apart from that, they owned three extremely popular restaurants in Dubai,La Soiree,Komobay beach bar, andThe Strawberry Café.

While Aaryan was the MD, Vihaan was the COO, and Shaurya the CFO. Apart from being a financial whiz, Shaurya was a lawyer and, at one time, had headed their legal team as well. But now, Shaurya’s wife, Myra, had taken over that role from him. Avantika, herself owned a major stake in the company, though she wasn’t involved in the day-to-day affairs.

Her brothers were capable of protecting her and hiding her from Dev Luthra, but Dev had proved time and again that he would go to any lengths to find her.

“I made a promise,” she replied. “And I will keep it. That’s the only way we can get him to go away from our lives.”

“What if he hurts you?” Vihaan asked.

Sanjana, Aaryan’s fiancée, cursed aloud in French. She’d lived in Switzerland for too long, and her French popped out several times in her conversation, especially when she was mad. And right now, she looked mad at Vihaan.

“My brother has promised me that he wouldn’t hurt her, and he won’t,” Sanjana said. “So, stop thinking that.”

Aaryan immediately put an arm around Sanjana’s waist and drew her to his side. He spoke softly to her, kissing her cheek, and Sanjana’s expression softened.

Avantika smiled, looking at the two of them. It was so ironic that Dev’s sister was now part of her family. Sanjana and Aaryan loved one another, and despite Sanjana’s blood relation to Avantika’s sinner, Avi trusted her. Sanjana rested her head against Aaryan’s chest, and his eyes sparkled with happiness.
