Dev was consuming her, making her forget everything again. And while she’d love to continue their tryst, unfortunately, they had to return. She licked his lower lip, and he shifted slightly, staring deeply into her eyes. She ran a hand down his jaw.

“Avantika.” He placed a kiss in the center of her palm. “I…”

“Fucking hell!” Vihaan’s curse rang loudly. “Now, I’ve actually seen it all.”

Avantika froze, and Dev stilled atop her. Fuck! This was not how she wanted to tell her brothers about Dev and her.

“Babe, what have you seen?” Tiya’s voice drew closer, and then she gasped. “What in the fuckity fuck?”

Tiya chuckled loudly. “Turn around, Vihaan.”

Avantika heard the sound of feet shuffling. A corner of Dev’s lips tipped as if he found the whole situation amusing. It was not.

“Go away, Vihaan,” Dev said, his eyes on her. “We need some privacy.”

Vihaan looked sideways. “I don’t want to hear your voice.”

The rage in her brother’s tone would have scared anyone. Dev, however, laughed loudly. She tried to push him off her, but he wouldn’t budge.

“Move,” she whispered.

“No,” he said aloud. “I quite like being on top of you.”

Vihaan’s curses filled the room.

“I’m going to kill you,” Vihaan growled.

“I’d surely like to see you try,” Dev responded. He pushed a strand of her hair out of her face, focusing only on her and not on the fact that Vihaan looked like he sure was ready to commit murder. From behind Dev, she saw Vihaan spin back around. His menacing glare lasered on them, still entangled together. Thank God, she’d covered Dev and herself with the sheets before he’d entered.

Avantika pushed Dev’s arm, and he finally shifted. He settled on the bed, propping his arms behind his head and leaning against the headboard, looking absolutely unaffected.

“You’re still here?” Dev asked her brother. “Privacy violation is a real thing, you know.”

Vihaan pointed an angry finger in his direction, and he saw Avantika watching him. He dropped his finger and marched out of the bedroom, followed by Tiya, who sensibly shut the door on her way out.

Avantika leapt out of the bed, quickly wearing her clothes, while Dev continued to lounge casually as if this were an everyday occurrence.

“Stop enjoying this and get dressed.” She tossed his clothes at him. “I’m going to be in so much trouble with them now.”

He finally rose and marched toward her, buck naked. “I refuse to be your dirty little secret.”

Her eyes helplessly traced him as he prowled closer. It took her a second to focus on his question.

“Of course, you’re not that.” She showed him her back. “Zip me up.”

He did as was told. When she turned to face him, he asked, “Then why do you look so panicked?”

“Because my brothers won’t understand what I feel for you and why.”

“What do you feel for me?” he asked quietly.

She gulped. “Can we have this conversation when you’re dressed, please? It’s distracting to see you like this.”

He quickly wore his clothes. “Now answer my question, Avantika.”

“I feel…I feel…” She dropped her head. “I’m scared of what I feel for you.”

Dev studied her carefully as if trying to ascertain the truth in her words.
