Vihaan’s words pinched his heart.

“You really want me dead?” he asked him.

“Yes,” Vihaan said.

“No,” Aaryan countered.

Dev smiled, looking at Aaryan. “Why, Aaryan, are you changing your mind about me?”

Aaryan threw him a glare. “Stop talking.”

Dev grinned. “I’m glad to know that at least one of you is coming around to my side.”

“I said stop talking,” Aaryan repeated.

Vihaan eyed him. “Avi and Neil would have cried a bit and then forgotten you, eventually.”

“Sorry to disappoint you,old friend.”

“I’m not your friend,” Vihaan muttered.

“You can be again.”

“That will never happen, fucker.”

Dev tipped his head to the side. “Wanna bet on that?”

“Sure. This is one bet thatIwill win.”

“You sure about that? You recently lost a bet with me. You ought to know by now that I get what I want, always. I am inevitable.”

“You’re so bloody arrogant.” Vihaan took an agitated step forward. “If you weren’t in bed, I would’ve punched you.”

“I would’ve punched you right back.”

“Asshole,” Vihaan swore.

“Bastard,” Dev countered.

His heart warmed. This was exactly how Vihaan and he used to bicker in the past. Some things never changed with time.

Vihaan glared at him. Dev grinned.

“Look at us,” Dev remarked, “It’s as if we’ve gone back in time.”

Fuck! He shouldn’t have said that because Vihaan stilled. His mouth parted in disbelief as if he, too, had concluded the same thing.

He shook his head. “I can’t do this. I won’t.”

Vihaan spun around and left the room.

“Bloody hell! You really never knew when to stop talking,” Aaryan breathed out. “You used to drive him away just like this in the past as well.”

“He will come around, like he used to.”

Aaryan lowered his chin. “Honestly, I’m not sure about that.”

“You’re here,” Dev said, “And you’re talking to me, finally.”
