“My turn,” I said. “Where are you actually from?” It surprised me that I wanted to know her. By now, I would’ve given her some benign line, smiled at her, and brought her to the bathroom to fuck her brains out. My adrenaline would be high, hoping she wouldn’t notice that I didn’t have a condom on, the thrill of risk adding to the experience.

God, my cock ached. Her mere presence gave me ideas.

“I live in the next town over. It’s smaller, and the people suck.” She grimaced at that last part.

“What makes themsuck,as you so eloquently put it.”

“Uh, uh, uh. It’s my turn.” Her eyes flashed, daring me to contradict her.

“Naughty,” I murmured.

She stuck her tongue out, all cute and sassy.

Before I could even think of the ramifications of my actions, I leaned forward and bit it ever so gently. Her eyes widened and we held a stare off. I pulled back trying to reign in my desire.

“I shouldn’t have done that,” I mumbled.

Flushing, she shook her head. “No, I liked it.” Then she took another sip of her drink.

Her glass was getting empty, so I motioned to the bartender for two more refills.

She cleared her throat, opened her mouth to ask him for the refill she didn’t see me already silently request, but the bartender slid a beer my way and her mixed drink in front of her quicker.

She politely waited for him to give us space before trying to get to know more of me. “What do you do for a living?”

Fuck, I took a long breath to buy time and pondered what to tell her. It couldn’t be the truth, not in any form. I couldn’t let her know I ran—or rather, had ran—a syndicate in Russia. It would likely scare her away. I also couldn’t tell her I did nothing. If I said I was in-between jobs, she would think I was lazy and have nothing more to do with me. In either scenario, she would probably run, and I’d have to hunt her down and force her to be with me.

Although, the thought of chasing her down and having my wicked way with her sounded most appealing. Who didn’t love a good chase?

“I am a financier.” There, that was plain, and it didn’t lead her into something dangerous.

“Oh?” Her eyebrows raised. “What sort of business.”

I tsk’d my tongue at her. “Now, now littlemalishka.I believe it is my turn to ask you a question.”

With a frown, she leaned away from me, dragging her drink with her. It would seem my little pet didn’t like the tables turned on her.

I gave her a savage grin. Nothing like what I showed my victims before their impending death, but predatory enough to signal that I could not be so easily ignored, and that turning your back to me could be dangerous.

“What do you like to do for fun?”

Sure, I could’ve asked her what she did for a living, but that question would lead her to asking me about my job again. I didn’t want to have to lie to her. Not because I was concerned about getting caught, but because it would become tiresome should she learn the truth. It was easier to skirt around the issue all together.

“Nothing, I’m just a waitress.” She ducked her head like she was ashamed of her work.

“Why does that bother you?” I knew it wasn’t my turn, but there was a deep-seated need that wanted to dig deeper into her response.

Truthfully, with every passing moment, I could feel the obsession growing. I wanted to know everything about her. Every. Single. Thing. I wanted to claw myself inside of her until she didn’t know where she ended, and I began.

I breathed through my nose to calm the savage beast inside of me.

“I guess because I thought my life would be different, you know? Like I would do something amazing or live out my dream. Instead, I’m fetching coffee and taking orders from people who will never appreciate what I’m doing for them.” With a huff, she downed the rest of her glass and tapped on the bar again.

A better man than me would tell her to slow down. He wouldn’t want her to be so intoxicated that she wouldn’t remember the night. But I was no gentleman. The drunker she got, the easier it would be to cross her boundaries and fill her up with my seed.

Shaking my head to clear it of the rising fantasies, I said, “Tell me more.”

The bartender brought her another glass, and she drank half of it in almost one gulp. Then, like a closed flower underneath the sun, she unfurled and let me see everything.
