She groaned and tried to bat me away. I captured her hands and brought them to my mouth. I kissed her wrists, her palms, then I bit her finger. Hard.

With a cry, she shot up.

I smiled. “Good evening. Dinner is here.”

Sloane looked at the tray Roman put on the side table and scrunched her nose. “I’m not hungry.”

“You have to eat.” I picked up a spoon. “I brought you two bowls. I think once you taste this amazing soup, you’ll be extra hungry.”

Her interest was piqued. “Well, it doesn’t smell as bad as the last soup.”

“Roman, you can go,” I said as I placed the spoon in the soup in the undrugged bowl. The kid nodded and left quickly and quietly.

When I brought the soup spoon to her lips, she dutifully opened her mouth. I could tell she really didn’t want to eat but looked to appease me. Good. She was learning.

Once she swallowed, she awarded me a smile. “That is…actually amazing.”

I nodded and dipped the spoon in the laced bowl. When I brought it to her lips, she took it in without complaint. Apparently, she didn’t notice any difference in the taste. I would not be killing Sophia tonight after all.

Like I predicted, Sloane was starved, and she ate both bowls. She also drank both her water and her orange juice.

“How do you feel?” I asked.

“I’m okay. Just tired.”

“Is your stomach upset?”

“No. Not really. That usually only happens in the morning when I wake up. I thought it was the stomach flu, but it’s more likely food poisoning,” she joked. “You can’t always trust the diner’s food.”

I narrowed my gaze at her. Was she fucking with me? Telling me the one thing she knew I had been waiting to hear?

No. She seemed so guileless. Could she not recognize the symptoms?

I would have to test her.

Sloane yawned and snugged into her pillow. “I’m exhausted again. I can barely keep my eyes open…” She froze. Though it took her great effort, she managed to open her eyes and weakly grabbed my arm. “You d-drugs me ag-g-gin?”

I smiled and leaned over to give her a forehead kiss. “But of course.”

“Goddammit. I h-hates y-you.”

“Eventually, you’ll love me,” I promised. “Now rest your eyes.”

Her eyes rolled in the back of her head as the drugs affected her system. She relaxed and gave me a dreamy smile.

As soon as Sloane drifted off, I stripped out of my clothes. I was too tired to fight her tonight, but my cock was rock-hard since the moment she admitted to her state of morning nausea. I had to have her.

I easily maneuvered Sloane on the bed in a position that was pleasing to me. She was so beautiful.

Even though she was resting, I placed kisses all over her body. I wanted her to enjoy us together. She let out a weak moan and a thrill of excitement shot through me. But good sex was not the issue our relationship had. It was trust.

I didn’t waste any time lining my cock with her slit. I tweaked her breasts, and she painfully whimpered. I frowned. Usually, I would enjoy such a reaction, but her breasts shouldn’t be that sensitive, come to think of it. We hadn’t even used the nipple clamps yet.

Brushing off my concern, I slid inside of her. She wasn’t dripping for me, but she was slick enough that it wasn’t too much of a fight. Not that I didn’t mind a brief resistance. Like this, she almost felt like a virgin.

It made me angry that I wasn’t her first, and I couldn’t control the thrust that slammed into her. She whimpered in her sleep.

Pausing, I tried to calm myself down. I shouldn’t care if I hurt her, but there was some small part of myself that wanted to make this good for her, even if she wasn’t awake to witness it. It obviously registered in her dream.
