“Yes. Much, much better.”

Because he knew she’d wanted to face off with Addison herself. A little Christmas closure could be a great gift.

“They’re not going to be hurting anyone else,” Brady promised her. The whole tangled story had spilled from Rowen’s bleeding lips. That piece of shit sure couldn’t take a punch, and, when threatened, he’d been more than happy to spill every secret he had.

Like the fact that he and Addison had been stealing from real estate clients.

Like the fact that Addison had turned off the security cameras at the charity event.

Like the fact that Rowen had lied about his alibi the night of the charity event. There had been no date at the restaurant.

Or like the fact that Addison had big plans for Elliott—she wanted to marry the guy and take over his and Noelle’s company.

Only in order to do that, she’d needed Noelle out of the way. Dumbass Rowen had thought that Addison was trying to hook him up with Noelle, but really, she’d just wanted someone to terrify Noelle into leaving town and clearing her path.

She’d used Rowen.

Rowen had terrorized Noelle.

Now they both would pay.

And Noelle would be safe. Safe, happy, and…mine.“You don’t need protecting any longer.” The threat was over. Even as he watched, Addison tried to make a break and run across the snow-covered yard in her slippers and robe. She didn’t get far, though, not before she slipped in the snow and fell on her ass.

The cops formed a circle around her.

“No, I don’t.” Noelle’s quiet response.

His head turned toward her. “I need you,” he told her. “I always have. Always will.” He didn’t think Noelle understood just how much he truly did need her. “You’re everything for me.”

Her hand rose and pressed to his cheek. “You love me.”

“Hell, yes.”

“Then take me home, Brady. Let’s go home and make love and forget the rest of the world.”

His head turned, and he kissed her palm. And then…

He was pretty sure all his tires screeched as he hauled ass out of there.

Noelle laughed softly, and he knew that everything was going to be all right. No, better than all right.

Safe. Happy.

Fucking merry and bright—thatwas what things would be. This holiday was just the start for them. After Christmas, they would have forever waiting.

And forever with Noelle sounded incredible to him.

Chapter Twelve

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…everything I ever wanted.

—Brady

“The Christmas tree isn’t straight. It’s leaning too much to the right.”

At the critique, Brady locked his hands around the top of the ladder and turned to glower down at his best friend. “It’s perfectly straight.”

Elliott continued to critically eye the tree. “Nope, definitely leaning to the right.” He moved around the ladder and went to the right. “I can help you adjust it, don’t worry.” He wiggled the tree.
