Closing his eyes, he dropped his head. “I’m sorry. Fuck. I promise, I’d never hurt you.”
He stepped back, and she immediately felt a loss. That was stupid. He wasn’t hers, so she couldn’t feel sad over losing him.
What was going on with her? She shouldn’t feel this way.

“Did someone close to you—”
“I don’t wish to speak about that,” he interrupted.
Well, she got that. There were plenty of things in her past that she didn’t want to talk about either.
With a nod, he stepped back and turned towards Webb. This ridiculous sense of loss hit her. And she felt the urge to wrap herself around him and hold on tight.
Definitely an idiot.
“What did Lochlan say?” he asked Webb.
“Said to bring her over in an hour.”
“Then we need to get you dressed, Little Thief. What did Honey get for you?” Zander opened the closet and then turned to look at her. “It’s all black.”
“I know.”
“I don’t like you in black.”
She rolled her eyes at him. Because what he liked was so important.
“You can’t dictate what she wears,” Webb told him.
“But black won’t look good with her coloring. She would look good in yellow.”
Yellow? Nuh-uh.
“Yellow is sunny and cheerful. That will suit her best.”
“Hello, have we met? I’m Keira and I am most definitely not sunny and cheerful.”
Webb let out a snort of laughter.
Zander appeared to ignore them both as he drew out some yoga pants and a T-shirt. “This will have to do for now. Can you put them on yourself or do you need help?”
Need help? Was he serious? No way was he dressing her.
Well, he did help you pee, after that he probably thinks helping you dress is nothing.
“I don’t need help dressing. Because I’m not going anywhere.”
“You are,” Zander countered. “You need to see the dentist.”
“No.”
Zander sighed. “Why are you being so stubborn over this? Are you worried that he’ll tell you off for not taking care of your teeth?”
