She closed her eyes, taking gasping breaths, but finally relaxed her muscles. I pushed the tip in, never taking my eyes off her. I was a sadist, but I wasn’t going to cause her intentional pain unless absolutely necessary. She’d become far too precious to me. Not just as a commodity but as something else I couldn’t put my finger on.

Possession.

Obsession.

Salvation.

The words were whispered in my mind as they’d been before. Huffing, I twisted the plug, pushing with more force, my breathing ragged from watching how her body accepted the thick rubber. When it was fully seated inside, I rolled both hands over her shoulders, bringing her to a standing position. “I promise that next time you’ll have an emerald jeweled plug instead of this crude piece.”

“There won’t be a next time.” There was no conviction in her voice, the luminescent spark in her eyes making me aroused all over again.

“That’s where you’re wrong, my beautiful creature. Now, come with me.”

“You’re not going to allow me to get dressed.”

“Clothing is earned. At this point you’ve done nothing that would warrant the privilege.”

She glared at me with utter hatred in her eyes. “Why are you doing this?”

“You know the answer, Eden. Now, come.”

While she trailed behind me as I took her to the third floor, I could hear her cursing me under her breath. She had a way of enticing me even when she was rebelling against everything I asked her to do. She had no idea I could devour her at this moment.

As I stopped in front of the entryway, I noticed she was trying to back away. I simply beckoned her with a single finger then pushed open the door. “Come on. No one will know you’re here.” It was the only room that locked from the outside.

“You say that like it’s a good thing.”

“It may very well be, Eden.” As she walked inside, she shored her shoulders, glancing at the various apparatuses.

“This is sick.”

“My friend’s tastes are very dark.”

“And yours?”

“Much the same.”

She walked into the center of the room, taking another deep breath before turning toward me. “I’m not this kind of girl.”

“I never thought you were.” I closed the distance, taking her face into my hands. “You’ll be safe here.”

“What are you hiding from me, Cruz?”

“The question is, what are you hiding from me?” I lowered my head, pressing my lips against hers. She didn’t respond at first then opened her lips, darting her tongue inside.

She could no more resist me than I could her, and the thought was scintillating, and provided a reminder of the life I’d been born into.

The stunning woman with the hidden past hadn’t just become my possession.

She’d also become my weakness, managing to capture a portion of my cold, black heart. I took a deep breath, holding it, the sharp pain in my chest an indication I was in way over my head. I was falling in love with the girl. God help me.

The madness was increasing.

Soon, chaos would ensue.

Then there’d be nothing left.

Except for death.
