“I want you both, withoutthe Trials and the history,” I ranted, feeling like a kid about to throw a tantrum. I was fighting so hard for my queendom, when all I’d really ever wanted was love. “I want Cadewithoutthe blood slave link. I want Nicolaswithoutthe mist. I want Rush without the fuckingsuspicion!”

For a moment, I thought one of them was going to balk at all those names or call me selfish. Spoiled, even. But then they each gave me their own version of a knowing smirk. Yeah, they were okay with being wanted. They liked my greediness in bed, as long as it included them.

The heat in the room began to rise as they both fixed me in predatory gazes.

“I swear to the moons, Kana, I’ll help you get all of that, if it’s possible,” Luca promised first, stepping toward me, even as he hesitated to get into Kassian’s space. There was tension between them, too, but at least they were keeping it out of the mess we already had.

I want it too, mon amour.

My head snapped up, and I saw Nicolas had returned, the mist curling around his shoulders like a cloak. “It’s not fair. We got so little time,” I murmured, reaching for him. He seemed somehow a little more solid than before, and my memory supplied the scent of his blood as he crowded into my space, the others nearby and watching.

I whispered his name, wishing with all my soul that I could touch him again. I craved the taste of his blood and the feel of his hands on my body, his lips on mine. I knew unfair things happened every day, but what had happened to us just wasn’t right.

I couldn’t take my eyes off him, fearing I might blink, and he’d be gone again.

Kana...he growled, and my body trembled, my eyes sliding down his form as I tried to imagine him alive and solid.Look at me, he rasped, and my eyes widened as they settled on his all-black ones. His fingers stroked my arm, and I shook with real sensation and potent desire.

I can scent you this time... something’s new...

And as he pushed the words into my mind, his own scent exploded through my senses as well. It was more than a memory now.

My fangs extended and began to ache, and my body undulated toward the misty shape of myaima. I cried out with need as my body met his - not mist, not spirit. Hard muscle and cool skin, for a single torturous second.

His fangs touched my neck, and his growl vibrated down my veins and straight to the very center of me.

You are mine, Kana. Not even death changes that...one day, I’ll come back for you. I’ll find a way... I will...Now, take them. Take your weapons.

A throaty moan left my lips as the barest hint of fangs scraped over my neck, and my eyes shut as I tried to memorize every impossible bit of sensation. Whatever magic this was, I wanted more of it.

I whimpered when I felt Nicolas leave me again, but when I opened my eyes, Kassian’s gaze was fixed on me, his jaw slack.

“Fuck me,” he whispered. “I heard him. I could scent his blood, too. And hetouchedyou, K.”

“Kas, please,” I gasped, suddenly desperate for his blood. His touch. Both of them. I needed both of them, and I wasn’t too proud to beg. “Luca... I need you both.Please.”
