“Thank God.” She couldn’t stop herself from getting started though. She pressed her lips to his neck, breathing in the outdoorsy smell of him. “How do you smell like the woods even in dress clothes?”

He chuckled, the vibration of it reverberating inside her because she was so close to him. What would getting even closer do to her? Now she was the one who was eager.

“My mom would say the forest is in my blood. It’s that Native American part of me, the part I got from her.”

Something about that statement calmed Leah. As if being with someone so connected to the earth would be good for her.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what that tattoo is.” She reached over to his left arm, resting on his thigh and tugged on the sleeve.

He moved his arm to the driver door armrest. “Hey, now. No peeking.”

“C’mon!” She crossed her arms and pouted, loving when Dakota took his gaze off the road for a second and zeroed in on her lips. She could feel his want like another passenger in the truck. That made her want increase at least threefold.

Maybe ten.

“We’re only moments away from my house, Miss Greenstead. Surely you can contain yourself for that long.”

“Not likely.” She’d been waiting too long for this. For someone. For him. “How about some hints? Like is it just on your forearm or does it cover more landscape than that?”

Again she felt the vibration of his chuckle and it ratcheted up her desire.

My desire?Holy shit. She had actualdesirefor this man. The revelation hit her like a tractor trailer. Leah Greenstead desired Dakota Brenton.

And she was about to act on that desire.

Oh, boy.A wave of both nervousness and excitement crested over her. She hadn’t had sex in four years. Not since that day she left for her D.C. trip. Would she be any good at it after all this time? Would she be enough to please Dakota? His sisters made it sound as if he dated a lot. What if he liked things she didn’t know how to do? What if he was adventurous in the bedroom too?

She gave herself a little shake, hoping Dakota didn’t notice her fretting. He said they could play by her rules and she was sure he meant it. She could take this night for the gift that it was and not overanalyze it.

“More landscape,” Dakota said.

Huh?Oh, right. She’d asked him about the tattoo. “How much more?”

His lips twitched up as he focused on the road in front of them. “A lot more.”

Heat grew between her legs as she imagined beautiful ink covering the canvas of his toned body.

“How long have you had it?”Keep him talking. That way she wouldn’t make him pull over so she could rip the shirt off him right now.

“Umm…” He puckered his lips out as he thought and that made her think about kissing that mouth. Kissing it hard and deep. “Since I was twenty-one.”

“Why did you get it?”

Dakota shook his head. “I’ll tell you that after you see it.”

“Oh, is there a story that goes with the tattoo?”

“There is.”

“I hope it’s a short story.” She clamped her hand over her mouth. What was wrong with her? Her arousal was making her too candid.

“Looking forward to this particular adventure, Miss Greenstead?”

She puffed out a breath. “Whatever. Maybe.”

He pinched her where his hand still rested around her shoulder. “It’s okay to give into the anticipation. I might take it as a compliment.”

“We can’t have you getting all full of yourself, now can we?” Though she was looking forward to being full of him.
