“I shouldn’t. I should be storming out and never speaking to any of you again. I should be so angry at you. Iamangry. I’m betrayed. I’m hurt. I’m so filled with a thousand more emotions I can’t even identify, that, heaven help me, I do love you. I love all three of you. I have for what feels like my entire life. There’s a reason I trust you so easily now, and it’s because, no matter what, I’ve always known you’d do right by me. Even if I had to endure before you could.” Pressing my head into hers, I rub back and forth as my eyes close, and I inhale deeply, attempting to regain control.

“Never in a million fucking years did I want…did we…want you to suffer. The minute I found out, I became murderous. Fueled with more rage than I’ve ever known. And then there was your guilt. You suffered at more thantheirhands, and I wish to fuck I could make it all go away. That we could heal you, but I swear, they will pay. Zakar, Valerian, and I will make them pay.”

Chapter9

Valerian

It’s the middle of the night, streetlights are barely doing their jobs. There are more off than on, and the neighborhood is oddly quiet, given the crime rate surrounding Abilene’s old home.

I stand outside in the blistering cold as another snowstorm blusters through Georgia, bringing frigid temperatures and more snow than we’ve seen in years. Meanwhile, Levan and Zakar ensure no one is home on the other side of this dilapidated house.

I didn’t get to assist the last time they came here, so I’m a little shocked at just how poorly maintained the home that Abilene was forced to live in is. It appears as though a stiff wind could blow the entire thing to the ground at a moment’s notice. Spotting Zak vacating the right side of the house, he shakes his head—nobody home. Levan comes out of the other a few seconds later, confirming that no one else is around.

“How are we doing this?” I ask. Burning Abilene’s father and uncle alive sounds like a mighty fine plan to me, but not before they suffer a fraction of what she has.

“Burn it to the fucking ground,” Levan confirms.

“Wait, we don’t get to have some fun first?” Zak’s disappointment is evident.

Levan rolls his eyes before shaking his head. “Have I ever said no?”

Clapping his hands together, Zakar blows on them for warmth before taking the stairs in one massive leap and kicking in the front door. “He’s like a fucking kid in a candy store,” I mutter as Levan and I follow behind.

“It’s going to get messy,” Lev comments.

Of that, I have no doubt.

Especially after I’m shown Abilene’s room.Under the house.I’m fucking livid. I don’t know how they allowed these two assholes to continue to live when they left last time. Stepping out of the dungeon our girl was forced to call home, I find both Otar and Paata bound to kitchen chairs in the middle of the living room.

Blood drips down their faces in various places from being worked over by Levan and Zak. Their mouths are taped shut so they can’t make a sound in protest. “You know who we are?” I ask. They nod in unison. “You know why we’re here?” Otar has the sense to at least look contrite as he nods his head, while Paata shakes his from side to side.

Ripping the tape off Otar’s mouth, I then speak. “She was your daughter. How could you do that to her?” I know I won’t like any answer I receive, and I’ll more than likely become even more enraged than I am, but I’d like to know.

“She’s her mother’s twin. I wanted my wife back.” I think that makes it worse.

“You were meant to protect her!” Shouting in his face, I reach behind my back and draw my blade, digging it into his gut as far as it will go. Blood spurts violently as I yank it out, covering me in his life force, and I step back.

“You think this one has answers?” Zak points his knife at the uncle, drawing it up and down his chest, teasing the man. “Nah, he’s just a sick bastard. I mean, I understand wanting the love of your life back, but not at the expense of your child. If it were me, and Abilene died, I’d follow her to the fucking grave. Lay down beside her and never wake up. Not destroy our daughter with a sick, uncontrollable lust.” I think we can all agree on that.

Levan comes over with a gas can, pouring the contents onto both men. Paata puts up more of a struggle since he’s not mortally wounded like his brother. “Since you two like the same things, enjoy this.” Zakar drives his blade into the man’s pudgy belly and does as I just did. Blood drips to the floor, creating an expanding puddle of their mixed fluids under their bare feet.

“Any last words?” Levan asks, flicking the lighter to life. Otar wastes one of his last breaths on a scream while Paata pitifully protests as Levan ignites the gasoline.

Stepping back, we watch as both men light up in a fiery display. Their agonized shrieks drowned out by the flames catching onto the furniture and floors, crackling as the wood burns. As their heads roll to the side, the agony too much to bear, we carefully back out of the house until we’re once again in front of the SUV. Remaining until the house crumbles, watching as the fire illuminates the neighborhood in a way it likely hasn’t been in years, before deciding to take our leave.

“Home to Abilene now,” I command. Zakar grins, knowing full well that Abi’s likely asleep and unaware of our departure since we each took turns lapping at her pussy before we left until she passed out from sheer pleasure.

“Christmas is coming,” Zak says after we’re about halfway home.

“And?” I look at him in the mirror as I drive through the unplowed roads.

“We haven’t celebrated in years. Don’t you think she might like to?” He glares at me like I’m an idiot.

My gaze moves to where Levan sits quietly. We all love and miss Yelena, but we haven’t celebrated a holiday since her passing. It’s been too hard. If he’s not up for this, then we won’t do a damn thing because as much asweloved her, she washissister. His blood.

“Do you remember the two of them on that last Christmas? Running around the house with the fucking tinsel. Throwing it like it was goddamned confetti?” I watch a grin form on his face.

“That was annoying,” Zak grumbles.
