I reach down and let my fingers slide against his phone.

At least I have this.

William Bernard Walker, Lex is coming for you.

CHAPTERTHREE

LEX

“Where you off to?” Emery asks me, shifting in his seat and clacking away on my laptop. He’s supposed to be working on my business accounting, but I know he’s been perusing Instagram and then Reddit for a few hours. It’s a good thing I like this asshole. Sometimes I think I could get my shit done in half the time.

In fact, I know I could, but I love him like a brother. So, I just let him take his sweet ass time.

I will keep him around forever and always.

“Hanging with the ladies, per usual,” I reply, grabbing my laptop and stuffing it into my satchel.

“Jesus, they take up all your time,” my best friend says, pulling a sucker from his pocket and shoving it into his mouth. He sees me eying it and waves me off. “Don’t even ask for one. You’ll just be disappointed. They’re sugar-free.”

My eyebrows rise at that. Well, damn. His boyfriend has managed to do the impossible. He’s weening Emery off sugar. He’s even more addicted to the stuff than I am.

And I have a very unhealthy obsession.

Hence my dreams about William last night—unwrapping him and eating that thick dick of his. I wonder if there are freckles there too. I’d count them with my tongue.

“I spend all my time with them because you’re too busy for me now that you have August,” I tell him, wrenching my mind back to reality. I am not going to think about William’s dick for another second.

Emery eyes me and smirks. “Yeah, August keeps me busy. So fucking busy.”

“I bet he does,” I reply with a waggle of my eyebrows as I throw my satchel over my shoulder. “Will you be done by the time I get back?”

“Of course. I took my medication today. I am ultra-focused. Wild stallions couldn’t tear my focus away.”

He squirms in his seat and then pulls out his phone, playing some game on there.

Oh yes, the amazing ADHD medication he takes. I’m convinced that it works only half the time. If this is him on meds, you don’t want to see him without. I guess I should be happy he even made it over here and didn’t get side-tracked at the Jamba Juice. That’s happened before.

“Whatever works, Eminem. You know, you and August are welcome at my place anytime. You still have a key.”

“Yes, well, we would hang out here more often, but you’d just watch us creepily. It makes August nervous. Plus, I don’t want you to see his fantastic ass. That’s all mine.”

“He has nothing to be nervous about. I’m harmless.”

Emery points his sucker at me. “You know that’s not true.”

I hum under my breath. “I’m harmless most of the time,” I amend.

There. I can be an adult about this. The truth is, I do miss my best friend. Ever since he moved out, I rarely see him. August consumes all of his time. But I get it, sort of. If I had an August, I’d walk around all day with my dick in his ass. He’d never escape.

“We could hang out tonight if you want,” Emery says. “Just text me when you’re done with work, and we can meet up.”

I eye him and know he’s feeling sorry for me.

“No thanks. I have other plans.”

I don’t have other plans, other than spying on William to see what other little secrets he has. Because let me tell you, that phone of his revealed nothing. I couldn’t even hack into it. All the user errors William should have made, he didn’t. Plus, he has no social media accounts that I can find and no online presence. It’s pretty impressive, actually. I couldn’t find anything about William the easy way. So, I’ll just have to return his phone and find another way to figure this man out.

I have all sorts of tricks up my sleeve and I’m not giving up yet.
